Realistic demographics? In my vidya?

It's more likely than you think.

Clearly having some black zombies in a city with a large black population is incredibly racist; the PC thing to do would be to make all of the zombies white. Apparently, the T-virus shouldn't spread to Africa either, 'cos, ya know, viruses don't tend to spread across continents. Or not to that continent, at least.

Interestingly, he doesn't seem to mind playing characters in GTA that could be seen as embodying negative stereotypes of Eastern Europeans and Italian-Americans. That stuff doesn't matter. (note that I'm not calling GTA anything-ist, since the games don't take themselves seriously)

Meh, you have to feel sorry for people that are so short of ideas that they have to write stuff like this. I can see why he might not like killing people in New Orleans or playing as a Confederate soldier. Not why he has to write about it in a blog, but why he might not like it. But trying to say that this is evidence of racism in video games is laughable. It's almost as if some people have given themselves a challenge to make as many things out to be racist as possible (kinda like training for debates by defending POVs you don't hold). Or maybe they think that they'll look more enlightened by calling as many people racist as they can. After all, the more racists there are out there and the more deeply ingrained racism is into society, the more special and brave the non-racists are, right? Erm no...

inb4 someone says "that's racist". And inb4 someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum PMs me with a link to some racist site thinking I'm on his side.

P.S.

Someone posting a comment on a piece linking to this article reminded me that this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkjtctcuQ9Q) might be considered racist by that bloke.

Capcom nearly got sued by some people 'cus of this,which is incredible stupid.
They made some White people into it now (like there are 5 whites between 50ty).
I wonder if we take that point, wouldn't it be even racism if there were only whites? lets make some black guys into it then!

Swastika.

Srsly. Wargames, both turn based strategy games and flight sims have always been insanely sensitive about it. So, more oftan than not, Germans end up having some variation of their flag that does not feature it. And as a bonus, Finns do as well. Swastika's use in Finland is based on so called von Rosen cross - named after count Eric von Rosen, who donated Finnish air force its first plane. Thus, Finnish air force featured swastikas during WWII, and for example the Flight School still features it on its flag.

This is of course a big no-no for Ã¼ber-PC crowd. Because obviously swastika means nazis, and nazis... they be bad.

It seems that some people - pretty often these seems to be americunts - can't deal with the fact that swastika existed before Hitler, and has been used by other people and organizations as well.

But yes... like someone pointed out to me in IM convo, white and brown dwarves are also highly racist celestial objects. I take great offense and demand that they'll be changed into a colored dwarf and colored dwarf, respectively. Just like black hole should be called colored hole. Or pigmentation challenged hole?

As someone with light coloured skin and below average height (175cm on a good day), I'm very offended by "white dwarf". If I heard someone use the term, I'd probably demand an apology and some compensation for the emotional trauma.

BTW, who are the Morans, and why do they need to get a brain? :-D

Or is the poster saying "Get a brain!" and signed by the Morans, so that the person reading it knows who's saying it? That's what the punctuation suggests... :roll:
