Title: Black videos? Any help would be appreciated

Okay, so I've got FF7 for the PC. I have installed it and applied every patch required, the Chocobo Racing Patch and the Upside down video patch, I've installed a bunch of codecs apparently required and I've run it in compatibility mode, I even installed the XP patch after those didn't work.
Each time I run the game I get a black screen and some sound. It goes for a few seconds then the sound stops and I HAVE to reboot my computer. I've gone around the net and scanned over the forums but there don't seem to be any working fixes. If anyone can help me I'd be so grateful, I've been told to play this game by a bunch of people and I loved Advent Children and I want to know the back story.

Don't worry, I've found out the problem, it was my codecs, anyone else with the same problem should check if they have K-lite codec, if so, disable ffdshow and reinstall "true motion" codec.
Should fix it, did for me.
