Title: Crash at start of battle
Post by: EscapeFate Dan on 2009-07-23 12:17:25
Hi, I'm new to all of this and it's very foreign to me. Basically I just got FFVII for PC and I wanted to start using some of these mods. So I got the 1.02 patch and the Chocobo patch as well as The SaiNt's Hi Res patch. Then I saw that other custom graphics driver by Aali so I decided I wanted to use that. So I uninstalled FFVII completely and tried using it. It didn't work so I took it off.

Now I got it working without and wanted to use APZ's cloud (Which is very well done btw). I didn't really know what I was doing but I followed the instructions. And when I went into a battle it said 'FFVII.exe has stopped working'. So I deleted the battle.lgp and replaced it with my backed up one. And now it still wont work. I've tried Uninstalling FFVII but it still crashes when I go into battle.

Is there a way to fix this?

Also after I uninstalled I still had my save, Is this normal?

Thanks in advance

Edit: I think I know what the problem is, the 'battle.lgp' in the FF7 directory has only 100 files in the archive, But my back up one has 11119 files. However if I delete the one with 100, then move the 11119 one into the FF7 directory, it says it still has 100 files - I don't understand  :|

Download YAMP (http://www.ff7-universe.com/Downloads/YAMP.rar) by dziugo, then get the battle swirl fix (http://www.ff7-universe.com/Downloads/bsf.rar) and patch your ff7.exe file using those.

just put the YAMP installer in your Final Fantasy VII folder, then put the battle swirl fix files in Final Fantasy VII/patches, then run the YAMP batch file. (I think it's called InstallYAMP.bat or something)

Does the image swirl before you go to battle or does it stop working before that? if it does THEN its because you need YAMP
