So, apparently a major US ISP is blocking (http://mashable.com/2009/07/26/report-att-blocking-4chan/) 4chan (http://stormen.wordpress.com/2009/07/27/att-blocks-4chan/).
Is this the start of an Orwellian age of internet censorship?
Should we in Britain be happy that this crap is happening to someone else for once?
Is this just a storm in a teacup?
How badly is anonymous going to raep AT&T?
Keep watching; this might become very interesting :-D
(P.S. - rules 1 & 2 only apply during raids)

Yikes. Even if I was a big time corporation I would think twice before blocking /b/. I mean seriously. The worse that could happen is one of the suicidal freaks on there decides to take down an executive with him instead of a school. Christ AT&T, can you really be this foolish?
Here's what will happen. A HUGE fit will be raised over this and people WILL cancel their ISPs to switch to someone else. This will lose a lot of business for AT&T in a still struggling economy and they will decide to unblock. What dumbass thought blocking /b/ was a good idea? ? ? ?
Don't be sure you are so safe in Britain. If this catches on here in the land of the free
you can bet all your marbles internet censorship will spread to you and other countries as well.

That's total BS if it's true, if it's not and just a 4chan joke, then lol!
Seriously, if an ISP was going to block access to a site it should be this place (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Main_Page/), it's even funnier than 4chan.

It is true, but only /b/ and /r9k/ are affected.
And it seems that anons are firing their lazers, some more accurately than others.

This is very scary. Thanks for spreading the word.

It seems that the big news corporations haven't said anything about this :-o
BTW, AT&T have removed the block and are saying that this was a disproportionate response to DDoS attacks rather than an attempt at censorship (http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=4800&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=26970).
Of course, it may be that they actually unblocked 4chan because got scared after lots of people threatened to get new ISPs, or after they saw the party van parked across the road. I won't comment on which I find more likely :-D

That'll be the latter, I think ^_^
Mwahahaha!!!!
