I listen to pretty much anything though, but I kinda have a prejudice against music that gets too hyped fro no good reason (Money...).

i don't understand the meaning of "hyped" in your sentence.

as for myself i tend to avoid mainstream music. since there are lots of copycats and most mainstream artists are only about the money.

My favorite is classical music, like any song that that uses a Orchester with no screaming girl or guy in the background...no "Oh baby baby how was I suppose to know...under my umbrella ella ella e e e ....I like big butts and I cannot lie...". I despise hard rock music...
Is metal under the same category as "hard rock"? :(

I don't listen to as much music as most young people, but here goes...

At various points over the last few years I've been interested in music from the Sturm und Drang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturm_und_Drang#In_music) movement as well as Eastern European/Jewish folk music. I wasn't heavily into either, so don't expect me to give a list of recommended composers :-D

ATM I'm mostly listening to music from video games and anime. It may come as a big shock to people that my favourite composer is Nobuo Uematsu :roll:

I don't think you're the only person on this board that would say that. He's mine too.

EDIT: Forgot to add, I have an ecclectic taste in music. It's all very varied and random. A small list of examples - Imogen Heap, Alanis Morissette, Josh Groban, Within Temptation, KMFDM, Rufus Wainwright, Not so much in recent years - [Korn, Slipknot, Metallica etc] and a great deal of 70's rock, as I was brought up by a dad with a passion for it. He used to play Kiss, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, etc full blast in the car and quiz me on the names of all the band members for the duration of the journey. If I got one wrong he'd shake his head and say "disappointing".

I tend to like between 1 - 4 tracks on average from the same artist, rather than Albums as a whole. I also tend to find a great deal of my songs for what I'll dub "next week's iPod experience while journeying to work" from Movies, TV Shows and of course, games. Any song that makes me feel something, I need to have it.

So I just can't quite decide if this is a bot or a person.  My heart says bot, but the on topic post tells me person... then the email and website try again to convince me it's a bot..  I just can't decide  :|

Edit: nvm, laughingman is cool.

I've got a really diverse taste in music. I listen to Alternative, Trance, Jazz, J-pop, Spanish, and yes, Videogame remixes. (DJ epic FF Theme remix ftw!)

@Obesebear

It's not hard to make a bot autogenerate that response to a topic with "music" in the subject name.

Wait...did I just unintentionally troll someone?  lolz

Srsly, why the sudden surge in bots recently?  I don't remember this happening a year or two ago.

Pretty much all things rock and metal (although I'm not particularly fond of the most early ones like The Beatles, and on the other end of the spectrum the most hardcore kinds of metal)

From Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin to Metallica and Slayer.
