Title: Anyone remember those glitches in FF7?
Post by: Hellbringer616 on 2009-09-09 18:03:38
You know the ones, Like copy items, increase chocobo speed, recover stamina, reviving dead party members in the forest.

Anyone else use those in their play throughs of FF7? Or am i the only one who's "cheated" :-P

I cheated with JENOVA in my first playthrough. I never owned the PSX version until recently (about a month before it was released on PSN, after which I promptly repurchased it).

Que?

In the ancient forest, if you step into one of those plant traps any dead character will be revived with 1 HP.

But increase Chocobo speed? Recover stamina? Those aren't "glitches"; They're more like cheats.

Pretty sure the w-item dup is a glitch, since in my mind, cheats are put into the game and require input (Up, up, down down, left, right, left, right for example) Codes are game shake/codebreaker stuff.

And glitches are things that work in your favor (or against in some cases) but they weren't intended to be in there. But i guess the chocobo thing is a cheat, And i abuse the hell out of that! :D

Wonder how many if any were fixed in the PC version..

None of them were fixed. Eidos wasn't allowed to change the source code at all for the PC port. It has completely remained in tact except for interface changes (keyboard/joystick input and the "Quit" menu option). A few spelling errors were corrected, but I still counted at least 12 the last time I played through looking for such things.

only two glitches i know is Item Dup and Chocobo racing.  the chocobo racing part is not really a glitch but in PC port of FF7, page up and down at the same time will regen chocobo stamina
