Title: FF7 weird problem!!!
Post by: Snake2208 on 2009-10-31 00:50:40
Hi, this is my first post, looking forward to help any member if i can ;)

i got a problem in final fantasy 7, i can play just fine, but after like 10 min of playing, it starts to lag, runs slower, specially with the little hand-pointer, it get slower and slower until it freezes, (you can still hear the music), then i press ctrl-f4 and ctrl-alt-esc, then the music finally freezes and after like 1-2 min you can hear it again normally like for 10 sec and, the program closes, giving me an error with a graphic driver, the nvidia display .dll

the weird thing is that before i reinstall windows, it worked just fine...

i have Windows xp professional SP2 (it was also SP2 before i reinstall it), AMD 64 athlon +3200, nvidia nforce 4 (6.86 nforce drivers) geforce 7300 SE/7200 GS (191.07 geforce drivers) (not sure what nforce and geforce drivers i had before...)

I've got installed the 1.02 patch, yamp, the high res patch, high res cloud, npc reconstruction project and spell patch, also the duck and k-lite codecs, and the Riva runner checking out the 8bit parallel textures

help!! thanks in advanced!!!

You don't have Aali's custom driver installed?

Are you sure that by "spell patch" he didn't mean "fire, fira, firaga, etc."?

Ok. Well, try installing Aali's custom graphics driver. It is the absolute BEST. Get it from this thread: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8306.msg112523#msg112523
Well, hope that helps!

Hmm. No idea dude. Try to re-install, MAX install, and get the mods from here instead of the NEAT COMPILATION because that one I think may be out-of-date. Just my thoughts.

YAY AND DAM!!!! i found that if i use the high res patch without the "[The_SaiNt]_High_Res_FF7PC_1280x1024_Fix_Patcher.exe" the white screen disapears, (but u can se the task board), i could finaly play it, no lag problems or anything!!!!(at least the little time i've played until...)...... until it crashes..... yea, sometimes when i enter a random batlle, it says that something went wrong and creates a crash.dmp... i'll post this on the Aali custom driver forum...

P.S. since the usage of this custom grafic driver probably ended the lag and freezes, i think this is a problem with DX9.0c or nvidia grafic cards drivers, maybe downgrading those things could eliminate those problems...

Hmm. You shouldn't use The SaiNt's patch. You should only use Aali's custom graphics driver and set your desired resolutions.
