So, I've just installed faststone image viewer.
It seems to work quite well, and it has the main thing that is missing from the default windows photo viewer: animated gif support.
Srsly, is it so hard for MS to support gifs? With Windows 7, they managed to partially fix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Media_Player_12#New_features) WMP's problem of not supporting numerous common codecs out of the box, but they still can't seem to get rid of this problem.
I'm going to use this as my default image viewer.
-
Picture and fax viewer works just fine on XP for .gifs :-D

Anti-virus? -> sterilize my keyboard/mouse.
I find that this is an effective way to guard against viruses as well. I usually use it when I have sticky keys turned on :-D
-
i just disable those sticky keys, :P for windows i use Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com/), or anti-vir.'s free version (http://www.free-av.com/). and always Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html) to find the spyware.

You never said if you gave Iron a try...
Also, complaining about Firefox crashes then moving to pre-alpha software seems a bit strange. Also, what's the latest version of VirtualDub like?
-
I like testing beta stuff. i've been using the pre alpha since... before the release of ff3.5.7 Crashes less. if you can believe... I'll give iron a shot right now though.
As for latest version, haven't touched it in a few months haha
EDIT: there ya go bolosa :D (http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7100/captureis.th.png) (http://img7.imageshack.us/i/captureis.png/)
So far i've noticed... doesn't load images fast haha
-
I like virtualdub. Sure, it isn't as easy to use as some other packages, but I just like the control it gives me. I felt as though I really wanted to properly understand things like video production, so I wanted to use a program that didn't hide its features and workings away from me.
Not that I've learned that much though :D
