What kind of shows do you like?
Me, basically any show that deals with comedy. For example: Family Guy, That '70s Show, etc.
Of course there are others that I like but my favorite ones are those that deal with comedy. Me like a good laugh :D

I rarely watch anything made outside of Japan nowadays :-D
That's not because of weeaboo snobbery or anything like that; it's just that there's little else that I have any interest in watching. There seems to very very little new programming in the West that's good (of course, I haven't been making an effort to catch up, and I don't have a TV for half of the year).
However, I'm in the same boat as the doc when it comes to favourite genre; I haven't watched any non-comedy Western TV programmes for many years, and I don't watch much "serious" anime either (the exceptions are Fate/Stay Night, which I only decided to watch because I liked the VN, Spice and Wolf, which I only watch because I'm furry for Horo and Rozen Maiden, which I only decided to watch because of the desu). I have a myanimelist (http://myanimelist.net/animelist/KudistosMegistos) account, which documents my woefully low level of anime consumption :-D
As for Western programming, I like Britcoms from the 90s and 00s, most things with Stephen Fry or Rowan Atkinson in them and/or that are written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton and animation aimed at older audiences; The Simpsons (the older episodes, of course), Futurama, Family Guy, King of the Hill and the absolutely brilliant Monkey Dust.

I watch Dexter and Weeds on showtime
It's always sunny in Philadelphia and Rescue Me on fx
I like funny shows like Tim and Eric's awesome show great job, Metalocalypse, family guy, south park etc.
I used to like The Office
I don't watch tv very much.
-
House, Heroes, Fringe, Community, Scrubs, Two and a Half Men, Hell's Kitchen
And dammit I loved Crusoe, I'm still pissed that didn't get renewed for a second season, or at least a proper ending.
-
Dexter. I'm also going to give Heroes one more season
-
Simpsons, Family Guy. American Dad, Big Bang Theory and Greys Antomy.
those were the BEST tv series i have ever watched. :-D

Almost nothing. Seriously, I don't watch TV much anymore (by choice). Thank goodness at least for Hulu so I can watch the few shows that I want to when they come out. That said, I'm still waiting for season 3 of Burn Notice (I like Bruce Campbell) to continue and season 2 of Legend of the Seeker.

It's definitely US only.
One can't even watch it with a proxy.

Absolutely, I love watching the super bowl but it pains me to watch as well as I know that is the last of it for another 8 months.

I almost forgot.... Firefly
You are missed
-
The Simpsons, Family Guy, Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show, and for a brief period of time, Firefly and Fastlane (may they rest in peace).
Oh, and can't forget SNL.
I can list tons of anime, but I'll just note Bleach as that's all that I'm currently watching in that category. (Aspiring Kenichi and Ippo season 2)
-
Dexter, House, Big Bang Theory, American Dad and Family Guy, Scrubs (Season 9 is so much better then expected!).
Used to watch heroes also but that shit got senseless and plot-hole-ery real quick..

I don't follow any show, but when I happen to be close to a TV I would prefer those standard American animations shows. Like simpsons, futurama, family guy, american dad and south park.
There are some Norwegian shows I enjoy as well (like this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxKUyo2r0qk) but none of you prob understands squat).
When it comes to Japanese animation there aren't much I like. In fact I tend to be embarrassed just by watching some (damn those Japanese got a serious school-girl fetish). But when they're good, they're really good. :-D

THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT JAPANESE SCHOOLGIRLS AND I WASN'T INFORMED? :-o
I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION! :-D
I think the problem with Japanese schoolgirls is that they don't look as good in 3D as they do in 2D:

I have a sneaking suspicion that we'd all have a heart attack if she turned around, but for entirely the wrong reason (i.e. we'd invert colour like the gaijin in the 4koma). I have the feeling that she might be a butterface (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=butterface).

If the information on your profile is accurate, it's no surprise; Hell's Toilet doesn't sound like the kind of place many beautiful people would visit.

Lost, I can't wait til it comes back!
I loved Battlestar Galactica, but now that's over - so sad
Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
Peep Show
Drawn Together
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
The Flight of the Conchords
South Park
I love Peep Show! I haven't seen that many episode, but every one I've seen was so hilarious. Along the same line of awkward comedy would be Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Again, I haven't seen all the eps, but they're the same kind of crazy humor.
-
I don't really watch TV at all, anymore.
The very few shows I follow, I download.
Currently just Big Bang Theory and Top Gear.
Maybe, just maybe I'll start watching Spartacus - we'll see. Based on the first episode, it certainly was entertaining... but it takes a certain attitude; it shares lots of people with Xena and Hercules and it shows; while it apparently tries to be serious, it doesn't quite succeed. Dialogue ranges from decent enough to horrid, usually anything and everything is done with over-the-top-attitude and the CG can be really bad. And it "borrows" in such an obvious ways from Gladiator, 300 etc, that it makes me cringe. Yet at the same time it manages to be entertaining, probably just because it's so over-the-top with everything; violence, sex, violence, sex, violence, sex... you get the point. :-D
And of course, the best TV-series ever, sadly now ended - but still deserves a mention; Battlestar Galactica. Yes, the new one. Yes, I'm old enough to remember the old one. Yes, the old one was shit. :-D The new one, however, is not. It's about as good show as I've ever seen.
Not to mention that I got a rather unforgettable experience with the series finale. People who have seen it know what happens, and what the episode is about. I'm not going to start explaining that here, it wouldn't work if you haven't seen it. Let's just say that the episode is very much about saying goodbyes, in so many ways.
At the time the final episode came out, my father was in a hospital. Day earlier he had fallen into a deep coma, with a massive brain hemorrhage. So, there wasn't really two ways about it; he was going to die, very soon. So, I had a choice, whether to watch the episode then, or wait. I'm not big on the 'sitting at the bedside'-thing - it's fairly pointless at that point, and there was no way of telling how long it would take.
So, I watched the episode.
And holy shit, did that ever give me an entirely new, and rather personal perspective to the final episode. Very rarely has a tv-series managed to touch so deep. Yes, I cried. Are you really surprised?
I also think it worked as a catharsis of sorts; I never had the chance to say goodbye to my father. So, that was the next best thing. Then I wrote to Ron D Moore. Seriously.
I've seen quite a few BSG episodes more than one time, but not the last one. At least not yet. It's not the time... yet.
Oh, the story needs an ending; yes, of course, my father passed away, about a day after that.
-

I love BSG too. (I realize I'm repeating myself.)
But that show is truly unmatched.
Have you happened to watch The Plan? I haven't seen that or Caprica. I was worried about watching Caprica, but it's gotten good reviews (definitely better that I thought it would.)
But yes, that is a series that deserves being watched more than once (save season 2.5).
Every now and again when I go through withdrawal, I check out Bear McCreary's blog. I'm linking my favorite post to date. http://www.bearmccreary.com/blog/?p=2167#more-2167
If you scroll down past the pictures he's uploaded videos of their live BSG concert. It's really great to watch!
-
That would be no on The Plan, and yes on Caprica's pilot.
Good thing you asked, though. I've had The Plan for quite a while, and had to think whether I had seen it and it was so forgettable that I don't remember watching it, or whether I hadn't seen it yet. :-P Had to check, and nope, haven't seen it yet. Which means that I'll probably watch it tomorrow.
I saw Caprica's pilot long time ago and... ...well, I am kinda worried. Good thing that the reviews are good. The pilot is not bad or anything, but at the first glance it did have many things that could lead to a disaster. Such as teens and teen angst. :-D
Thanks for the link. It is teh awesome! :-D

Been watching Castle, Dollhouse, Metalocalypse and catching up on Robot Chicken, I'm a simple man with simple tastes.
Been watching Total Wipeout UK too, new season just started yesterday(Saturday) It's like Ninja Warrior or Viking for pussies and purely for the entertainment of the viewer, usually because it's people getting smacked in the face or landing arse over tit in a pool of water.

Ah yes, I watched Dollhouse, too. I would say it was pretty good (though I found the start slow).
Although, not only did it use BSG's cast list (there were 4 at least) it also used some of the BSG plot twists! Kind of annoying when you've seen both series.
But overall it was pretty good. I still have two episodes to go (not counting Epitaph One, which I never saw). They promise to be good ones :-)
-
Well, I watched The Plan.
It's... okayish. Nothing to write home about. It does explain the Cylon plan - which was surprisingly simple - offer some surprises, some rather hilarious comedy involving a rather drunk Six and equally wasted Bro Cavil, and demonstrates how cynical and jaded Cavil is. That's about it. Mostly it's rehash, with bits and pieces explaining the Cylon side thrown in.
Now I shall talk about movies for a bit, though. Skip it, if the off-topicky bothers you. :-D
Tod - wait , yesterday actually, I however made an interesting experiment. I went to see Avatar. But not in 3D, not in a big multiplex, not even with a digital sound, much less digital picture. I intentionally went to tiny country theater, that has a projector probably from somewhere around '50s, analog sound - in theory it's Dolby Surround, in practice it's just stereo, as the rears were either off, or too low... that kind of thing. :-D It even has a real balcony! ...which is off-limits due to insufficient exits in case of a fire, but since I know everyone who works there and have worked for them before, I probably could go there too, if I wanted to. There are no seats there anymore, though. Minor setback. It would be an excellent place for making out, if one were into such teenish hobbies. :-P
Anyway.
I hadn't seen Avatar before, because I couldn't be bothered to drag my ass to a larger city, just for nice visuals. So, I decided to try if there's an actual movie behind all that nice CG and 3D and DD and DTS and whatever acronyms it might have.
Well...
I was entertained. For the entire two and half hours. Didn't feel like walking out. Even though there were some "minor" technical difficulties, namely they could get only the upper and lower thirds of the screen - or the middle third - in focus, but not all of them at the same time. :-D They chose the top and bottom. Can't say that I was really bothered, this was an experiment, and for that matter, I got the ticket for free, from my old boss. :-P
Few observations; no commercials. Not a single motherfucking commercial before the film. No trailers. No cute 'turn off your phones or you will be shot'-reminders. It had a really cool countdown though, you know like you occasionally see used as an effect, except here it was for real. The sound was very analog, with audible hiss at quiet spots (Cameron movie? Quiet spots? Not very many...), snaps and pops at the reel switches. The image was... somewhat out of focus, as described earlier. I suppose it was 3D - the center third was obviously focused in front or behind of the screen, that is. :-D The projector exhibited some scratches and such (not the reels though, as they were more or less permanent and semi-static feature). Awesome legroom. It's not really purely a movie theater; it's multifunctional, so the floor is flat, and the seats can be removed, or set as desired. At least now they were set with so much legroom I could just barely reach the seat before me with my foot, if I really stretched. Haven't seen that in any THX-certified theater. :-D
Despite all that, or perhaps because of it, I had lots of fun. :-D No, the movie is nothing special. It looks real purrty, at least I think it does... darn focus issues. :-P But the plot, dialogue and such... are quite average. But the entire experience was quite nostalgic and cute, if you ask me.
Digital sound, digital picture, Dolby Digital (that's quite a few digitals, now that I think about it), DTS, SDDS, THX, WTF, BBQ... these are all nice.
But this was something different, this was an experience. :-)
