Title: Would it be possible to convert a PSN version Save...to a PC Save for FF7 or FF8
Post by: DarkShadowRage on 2010-01-17 23:52:17
Edit it and reconvert it to the PSN version save and play from there? That would be interesting to see if it could be done.
I got a PSP3000 for christmas and I have the PSN version of FF7 on there now, also with my lovely PC Version on my PC.

I wonder, could this be done some how?

It's possible to convert PSN save to MCR file.
PSN save = header (128 bytes) + standard MCR format (8192*16 bytes)
So just remove the header and use PSXMemtool to convert a save from the MCR to PC Version.

VMP2MCR converter (http://www.maxconsole.net/forums/showthread.php?p=661549)

Convert MCR to PSN save is difficult.

Mod edit: Black chocobo is now able to do this.
