Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I just would like to ask several questions. Recently, one of my friends sell his FF VII PC to me. I didn't know either the copy is legit or not. But it came out with 4CDs [1 Disc for Installation, and 3 Disc for Playing]. I've installed and work smoothly. I'm trying to make it work with Aali's OpenGL Drivers, After I patched it, everytime I started up ff7.exe [Path: C:/Program Files/Squaresoft Inc./Final Fantasy VII/ff7.exe], the screen just flash and game even didn't start. Could you help me to resolve this.
Thanks

It might be pretty obvious whether your copy of FF7 is legit or not.
PROTIP: if the CDs are unprinted and have something written on them with a pen, like this (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3078/2316067288_990f63c63c.jpg), they're not legit ;D
Anyway, have you installed the FF7 1.02 patch? If not, download it here (http://ffsf.aaron-kelley.net/patch.html). The custom graphics driver is supposed to be used with a patched FF7.exe
BTW, the 1.02 patch is official and legal; it's made by Squaresoft themselves (or Eidos, I can't remember). There's another patch going around called either the 1.4 patch, the XP patch or the animevamp patch. Do not use it: it changes important system files and is generally very bad.

Well to be sure the CDs I have right now doesn't look like that. There's Final Fantasy VII print at the above and Squaresoft logo. I'm not sure whether this copies are original one. Here's the CDs, I took it a while ago. And yes, I've installed 1.02 Patch.

They do seem to be the legit CDs, from the EA Classics release.

Not sure why this has 5 CDs, but the artwork matches.
As for the problem, look in the install directory for app.log, open it with a text editor like notepad or wordpad, paste it up here and we can have a look as it should give us an idea as to what's wrong.

Hi, Ya, My friends bought it a while ago, and it seems he didn't have any interest on RPG Games, so they sell it to me. And its true, thats the cover I have match with the photo above. It's came from EA Classics.
As for for the configuration file, I will post here later, as I need to re-installed my Windows, and see whether this will solve the problems.
Thanks

Hi, I managed to do clean installation for my Windows XP, and now the problem getting worse. Each time I'm entering Battle scene, the music played first and I have to wait for 10 seconds, before the screen changed. I'm out of luck, I've been trying to re-installed FF VII for many times, and the problem remain the same. Is there anything I can do to make solve this problem, as the Aali's driver I managed to get it worked, I also recently purchased my FF VII Disc from my other friends. This time the CDs come from Eidos. Thanks for your helps.
