Title: Question about spell animation
Post by: Kuroda Masahiro on 2010-03-04 05:59:07
Okay, I was wondering if there was a way to have the Ice 3/Blizzaga animation be purely the Crystals hitting the enemy, without the aftermath purple Crystal?

For something thats somewhat in the works, I want to replace the Ice 3 Crystal with something else, but it looks strange when the final crystal covers the enemy.

The easiest thing I can think of to do is to make the textures that cover that last crystal transparent. I'm not entirely certain how to do that, but I think it should be as easy as making the texture a solid color.

Yeah, but unless i'm mistaken, the final crystal used in Ice 3 is also shared by enemy attacks, such as Avalanche and Cold breath (i think thats the name) and if i make the Ice 3 Crystal invisible, it'll affect the enemy attacks as well.

But, if i WERE to do that, I could just either delete the model the texture goes around or just make the model it goes around 100 times smaller so it doesn't 'appear'.

Thanks for your answer through.

edit: Okay, now i feel like an idiot.  :-P

I just checked, and I can't find any other spell or enemy attack that shares the final Crystal from Ice 3, so i'll just delete the model.   :D

If you delete the model, the animation will likely not work at all. Don't take my word for it though. That's just a theory.
