Title: Open Chat
Post by: ultima espio on 2010-05-21 15:17:18
Open chat is where you can chat with anyone on the forum, about anything that does not really need a thread of its own. For example you can just talk about your day, your plans for the weekend, and get to know other members.

Try to keep this spam free, and I hope this turns out well.

RULES:

Quote
Do not reveal anything really personal, such as where you live, or phone numbers etc. This is a public forum remember.

Do not just post smilies, put some depth into your post

NO attacks on other members please, a discussion is nice, but not when you start flinging nasty insults around.

If this thread gets out of hand, I WILL delete it. Thats why i posted it in this section. You can also delete your own post if you feel it was rather harsh/unnecessary.

Ok so...just to get this started, I've had a good day Today, got out of College early, and spent like 2 hours walking home when i could have just got a bus that takes 15 mins :P Oh wellll :)

What about the rest of you?

just woke up, eating some toast, and need to leave for work at 11, start at 12:30, cuz my boss is grumbly about my coming in at 12:25 (within 5 minutes or less of shift start) so he wants me in earlier, and thus i need to take an earlier bus, and my end of town has the worst busses evar ><. On the "bright" side, its supposed to be fairly cloudy today, so a fairly relaxing day... shitty tips tho :P

Never trust 'dem weather reports.  The other day, they said to expect a "light drizzle".  Morning comes and a torrential rainstorm descends and rages throughout the entire day >:(

The times I've visited the UK, I've seen the sun set at 9 and rise at 5.  It's so disconcerting.  Where I live, the sun sets at 7 and rises at 7.

Its set later than that before, a couple of years ago it was light till about 11pm, then the sun came up again at about 2:30-3.00am. I woke up thinking it was time to get up...:P

I'm from the UK, in the summer the sun usually sets at 10pm-11pm and rises at 3-4am, in the winter it sets at 4-5pm and rises at 8-9am (which is what DST is for).

I had my last exam last week, I've been drunk every night since. Good times. I applied for a new part time job at O2 yesterday and just ate a ham and cheese toastie. Also good times.

I enjoyed my first beer, that was a few years ago, the guy who gave it to me thought the stuff was disgusting but I downed the entire bottle, although I'm not sure if it was my first since I heard that I was fed alcohol when I was a baby, just a rumor though,  never actually made a habit out of it, too much damn problems with alcohol addiction in the family, though I can see why :)

Post by: Cupcake on 2010-05-25 05:07:34
Yeah, my family doesn't have alcohol problems, but I wouldn't be surprised if I developed one at some point in my life.  Although, if you know you could potentially develop a problem, I would figure you can see yourself developing said problem, and thusly stopping it.

D'aww =(

oh well, it didn't run terribly well on my computer anyway, and beyond that, even if I wanted to use some of the smaller parts of it like the new materia textures and whatnot, the installer doesn't like to set it up properly, so it doesn't work =(
Title: Re: Open Chat

Stuff like different materia in the installer is tied to having the main GUI installed with it.

Yeah, that there happens to be my problem.  I don't want the main GUI since that also makes the game run like crap on my system (it's just a netbook, cut me some slack)

Well that I know.  The problem is that I can't install those texture sheets alone.  If I could just install everything but say the text, I'd be happy, problem there, is if I install everything and remove what I don't want, the default text glitches like crazy.  Another mod I'd like to be able to install stand-alone is the new map that looks like parchment, but, no dice, it seems.  I'd just inject it into my LGP, but I don't know how I would go about converting it to a .tex

the jokes go both ways. one of the running jokes is that all canadians live in igloos (snow houses) and just drink beer, watch hockey and... yea i unno nothin else or something.

in other nooz i just gawt up! :D day off fer the win...

@SL you've seen her stuff, liek yuffie! ... guard hounds has like... 10 polies right now :P.

@ the alcohol discussion, most booze will taste a little better the more you drink it... except cheap vodka, that seems to get worse. (also, bad beers tend to loose their good taste by the end of a bottle or so)

Well aali has this nice feature called mod path that you could use. Once you set it up properly it will only load png's that you have in your modpath folder. So you could download the avalanche stuff and just insert the png's that you wanted to use.

Well i could tell you, but the path to becoming a non noob involves you being able to figure things out yourself. I will give you a hint though. It is turned on in ff7opengl.cfg. I also suggest turning on the diagnostic messages. I think it is the last option in the config.

Never heard of the igloo thing, thats eskimos lol. You do hear a lot of bear drinking jokes, pot jokes, hockey related stuff, and in almost every tv show making fun of canadians they talk like
So are you aboot to get on the truck ehh?

For some reason aboot(replacement for about) and ehh(pronounced with long A sound)are the only word jokes, Nut theyll make a character say aboot and ehh like a million times. Sometimes 2 actors will have a dialog and at one point itll be all
Actor 1: Ehh?
Actor 2:Ehh?
Actor 1 Ehh!
Actor 2 eeehhhhh!

Its sorta dumb lol.

1. Its a sad day indeed when people forget about the world wars and the sacrifices many countries (including canadians) made
2. Bears dont taste very good :P
3. Not really sure why the pot jokes, it is illegal here as well. We just dont get thrown in prison for years if we get caught with it.
4. We really do talk like that eh
[/quote

Please educate me on canadas place in the world war...I can't remember at all.I'm not trying to sound like an ass, I legitamately want to know from someone who lives there so I don't make stupid comments again lol.

Well that just sucks, I can't believe the citezenry was FORCED to fight, I guess thats another american misconception about canada. I gaurantee you many ppl I know would not know that canada has ever been active militarily(besides for having a defensive army) They don't even print that stuff in our high school history books(Believe me, I read every page of mine)

Well that does appear to be a bear drinking. XD.
It looks rather stuffed though. o.O.
Now i am hungry, it made me think of Yogi the bear, and picnic baskets. XD.

Anyways, my contribution to this thread. I just finished writing chapter one of my mini novel, getting it edited, fun stuffs when your editor tears apart all your hard work... But I am the type who craves constructive criticism, so I love it.

Other than that, my quest to learn 3D is finally taking off :D. I have been practicing for an hour each day. ^.^.

Mostly school though; and lots of procrastination. ;).

Sorry for being a noob but how do you use mod path??

Well i could tell you, but the path to becoming a non noob involves you being able to figure things out yourself. I will give you a hint though. It is turned on in ff7opengl.cfg. I also suggest turning on the diagnostic messages. I think it is the last option in the config.
Well I've been searching the .cfg files but I can't find any. I assume its on the latest driver but I use 0.7.6 since it does not have problems like the latest so I'll think I'll wait for 0.7.8 version. Thanks for the info though. :D

tis a good night ladies and gentlemen.  I'm pretty baked, and thinking about the symbolism in FF VII.  There's a reason now, why it's my favorite game of all time, even more so than the two Shenmue games.  The story of Shenmue is one of avenging, it's deep, but FF VII is one of life, death, redemption, and avenging, it's just got a little bit of everything...  Screw it this is too hard to put into words, I'ma go play FF VII

Yeah, that too, it's just hard to put stoned thoughts into words.  I was also distracted by the FF VII Main Theme via the Piano Collections.  Single most beautiful piece of music ever written.  I mean, I always loved the peace, and when stoned, music generally gets amplified in terms of awesome, this piece however got amplified in beauty.  Seriously, that piece of music alone, makes getting stoned worthwhile.  I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it gets.

I've been using it as my sleeptime music for about a week now, next album I'm gonna use is probably this one http://www.amazon.com/Rockabye-Baby-Lullaby-Renditions-Floyd/dp/B000GY72K6

I would suggest drinking and smoking (both tobacco and pot) for at least a period of time, as to me, it is a valuable life experience (I was just discussing this a few minutes ago)

8:28 on Sunday: I recently installed World of Warcraft (again) and made a 14-day trial account. I was looking through all my Blizzard games and noticed I have like four 14-day trial keys. If anyone would like one, I can give it to you. :D

Do yourself a favor, pick up The Boondock Saints on Blu Ray.  'Tis my favorite movie, and as I discovered the other day when I bought it, Blu Ray makes it 1000x better

Duh! Blu-ray > HD > DVD.

I feel sorry for all the people who wasted money on HD movies. Dumb 720p resolutions...

Yeah, but I meant that movie specifically, I don't know what it is, but the 1080p seems to add something to the movie

I wonder if they're going to be releasing the complete Star Wars set on Blu-ray.

EDIT: Okay I lied. We're going to Wal-Mart in about an hour.

Hah, if I didn't just get out of the shower, and if my family wouldn't freak out about me going somewhere at 4 AM, I'd go take a look at the Blu Ray section down at the local wal mart, because last time, my mind was clouded with "where the fuck is the boondock saints"

My local walmart is also 10 blocks away + down a hill...a very steep hill, which makes it easy to get to...  Getting back however, sucks

Well you're lucky. In here the store to buy movies that aren't pirated is only the mall and I even have to take the car just to get there.

I love this movie. I sure wish they hadn't made a sequel  :-\
I bought it on DVD years ago. Some day (when I have money - which will hopefully be in about two years) I will get it on Blu-Ray. Thanks for the tip :)

Pendulum! Immersion!

this was the best post in the history of the world

One movie falling into the category of MOVIES I ENJOY MORE THAN BOONDOCK SAINTS is definitely A Clockwork Orange. Oh and without a doubt The Human Centipede that shit was great.

I like Clockwork Orange (I have that on VHS - I really need to get with the times). But I don't know if I would put it ahead of the Saints. Very very different types of stories.

While I'm normally all about the apples and oranges thing, I place CO far enough ahead of Saints to have a great deal of confidence in the issue. And people with confidence are always right!
I swear I am not normally as self deprecatingly sarcastic as I seem to have been in 90% of my posts on this forum what does this place do to me?

I know it isn't a game. I was saying that I wish some game company make an mmorpg which looked like that video.
And if they make a game it wouldn't look right with many Cloud's walking so maybe we can change what Cloud wears. I'd love to see Tifa in a bikini costume.. Hehe ;D
