Title: pcreator uv error
Post by: salem123 on 2010-06-01 14:31:41
Hi guys. I was creating a new Tifa model using Blender and when I finished I exported every part of the model like "head" "arm" "chest" and added it to PCreator. But when I click File > import UV it says "The number of UV coords must match the number of vertices". What does that mean? Please help me guys, this is my first model.

Break then Unify the normals.  Export it again and see if that helps.   If not, try using some a little grammar in your next post

Very nice!  Please continue using good grammar here.

Now then, I watched your video.   If you're trying to apply a texture to the model, you don't click "Import UVs".  You're supposed to click "Open Bitmap".   You will also need to convert the .tga files to .bmp.

Also, you have to import each file individually.  Meaning, first his hand, then his head, then his chest, then his shin... etc etc.

You will not really see the texture until you've added it. Click a part you want to add a texture and add the texture. You can add bmp files or many types of image files as their texture.
BTW why is your model like that?? I think you forgot to cut out the parts??

As far as I know... No. :-\ I think the game access each file as a part of one character and in the char.lgp every model has its own hrc so no. If it was possible to import a model then custom models would be done like that and they will not be cut.

First you need to know what parts you will need to cut up. Look at the stickied thread File reconstruction project and look at the field.lgp contents and see what's the .hrc of the character you're making(tifa is aagb.hrc). Then load the original aagb.hrc with kimera and there you will see the parts you will need. Basically you need a head, body, two hands-each hand has three parts the upper part the lower part and the hand itself. There's also the hips, thighs etc. Just take a look at it with kimera and cut up your model. First do that.

I'm really sorry for reopening this ugly wound of a post. Lol. I have selected options>Battle Model and Textures. Then I went to file open and selected Head.3ds. It loaded in white. Then I selected the middle drop down menu and clicked on head-0. The head turned red. I finally click on File and "open bitmap" is greyed out and not selectable. I am really wanting to get this ball rolling. Hopefully I used good enough grammar for some help. Lol. JK but really, you guys don't pull any punches around here.
