Title: Something I just learned
Post by: nfitc1 on 2010-06-01 18:40:38
This might be neat as a continuous "I just learned that..." topic, but it doesn't have to. ;)

Anyway. I was sifting through PrC weeding out some lingering bugs when I discovered an enemy I had never heard of before. It's the Flower Prong. It appears to be in the Gongaga Forests and possibly as a Battle Arena though I don't think it's in a referenced chain. You can apparently Side attack it and it's supposed to change forms as it gets weaker.
It contains data for an attack called Energy Siphon that is supposed to drain 7/8 of a target's HP/MP and give it to Flower Prong. Has anyone ever fought this enemy before? I've never heard of it before today.

Yup I remember the first time I fought this guy, I was really surprised because in the 10 years or so I had been playing FF7, I had never seen it before.
That, and it was a really interesting enemy, it was a side attack, and it actually changes form several times, growing stronger with each, starts out as a little bud, and grows into a big man eating flower.
Pretty rare encounter considering he is only found in such a small area. It's a bit of a shame really haha.

yup many a time :)  though its name is a mystery to me.  It looks from japanese to be prang and not prong.

Flower Prong
フラワープラング
furawaapurangu
Flower Prang
[probably Prong or Prang because of the things on its head]

This was actually one of the first things I noticed when I started playing. :) It was a good idea at the time. Saves space for other more complex things later on. :)

Actually, it is called being efficient.  These were the NES days, and space/resources were in short supply.

Trent is not retired. he just don't put out albums ne more cause of the RIAA, the last few NIN albums have been put out under the creative commons and you can download them from his page.

well so i read this in the FF wikia idk if that site is official so what i just learned could be total bull
but the storyline totally supports the idea and it fits O_o

Squal Leonhart is actually ... (wait for it....)

Squall Loire O_o

"HOW?!" u say?!
SPOILER ALERT!

cuz when Laguna fought the Estharians, anyone who played and beat ff8 knows this o_o
but when he met little Ellone, he wanted to protect her like his own child with that woman
Raine who nursed him back to health after the Estharian Galbadia war (The Sorceress War)
Well, Adel was bent on taking Ellone, and the Estharians came for her again, and took her.
Before Laguna left for his journey, he and Raine did the naked dance O_o (they were married =p)
But she never told (if she knew) or got a chance to tell (if she didnt kno b4) that she was
prego. Well over the 9 months of her pregnancy, and beyond, Laguna was still on his mission
to get Ellone back from the Estharians. He - no knowing his wife was prego - sent Ellone back
to Winhill ahead of him to help the Estharians rebuild their government after he helped them
overthrow it. Ellone Returned to Winhill around the time Raine went into labor and Raine
died durring childbirth. She had a little boy, Squall, her death left them both without caretakers
They both ended up at Edea's orphanage, Squall never knew anything about his parents
Laguna knew nothing about his son O_o, Ellone was too young to understand, and Raine
was too dead to tell anyone the facts x_x. GF's ruined Squall's memory of his past so he didnt
know WHY he called Ellone "Big Sis" when he was a child, but WHILE he was a child, he knew
that Ellone was the only one at the orphanage that knew who he was to a point and loved
him like that (kinda) little brother that he was (not blood, adoptive)

So with the possibility that the boy Raine had being squall and that final fantasy stories have
weird creepy twists like this i totally believe it O_o

Example
SPOILER WARNING

Hojo/Lucretcia/Vincent love triangle (twisted guinea pig triangle actually =p) birthing Sephiroth =p

btw... who the fawk are clouds parents O_o

Post by: BlitzNCS on 2010-06-04 01:47:45
Squall is Laguna's son
...Wasn't that an integral part of the storyline? I thought that was definately part of the plot, I knew it since forever o.O

btw... who the fawk are clouds parents O_o
Cloud's father is never mentioned for some reason, and Cloud's mother resided in nibelheim (one of the buildings on the right, you could actually go and visit her in the flashback) until the whole town burned down, apparently killing her.

well we kno THATs not true being that rufus isnt more than 5 or so years older than cloud lol, dude is like somwhere between 25 and 28 durring the main FF7 game lol

Cloud is 22 or 23 in that game i think lol

Clouds mother was...shall we say... a lady of the night, and she couldnt bear to tell cloud who his real father was, for she knew not who she concieved with herself,so instead she told him his father was a great hero :)

Some people have been curious about Cloud's father considering
-he was untrained yet still able to pick up the sword quite easily as shown in before crisis
-people have been arguing about the glowy eye bit in the OVA
-the fact that he could get the one up on Sephiroth.

That happens after his attack on Sephiroth, in the OVA his eyes glow when he was skiwered by Sephy.

With all the girls Hojo gets I wouldn't be surprised.

One of the mysteries of FF7. Why the frick would any girl want to be around Hojo? Especially marrying and having sex and giving birth for the creepo.

Well I think the girls that are with Hojo in the Costa del Sol is for money. Lucrecia is for experiment but damn man Hojo?? eew..

money and experiments.... JUST how much do we know about clouds mom anyway.

that might be something to add with all the new stuff going into ff7 here, an explanation

Ok I understand the money bit with the beach girls. But Lucrecia did marry Hojo. Goes into it in Dirge.

So ok, I get that she feels awkward about her and Vincent having a relationship cause there was an accident when she was younger and killed Vincent's dad. But why marry Hojo. And that's not due to experiment. If they wanted I bet Hojo could do a test tube baby/clone. Or pay a random hooker to give birth to Sephiroth.

I have to say, most of the problems of FF7 were caused by Hojo experimenting.

Hojo destroyed Vincent's life with his experiment with Lucrecia and it roots to the Omega problem in Dirge of Cerberus. He infused or experimented on some strong people too like Sephiroth and therefore causing the Meteor problem in the main game. Damn I wanted to kill Hojo when I saw him in Crisis Core.

:P or better yet, someone just says one day while working at shinra "... you know, i think hojo's gone a bit loopy, maybe we should fire him"
Title: Re: Something I just learned
Post by: nikfrozty on 2010-06-04 16:58:01
If someone should fine him I think Rufus will be the best who could do it. But he isn't president on those times when Hojo did a lot of experiments. And I don't think President Shinra would fire him either since Hojo's experiments can lead them to the promised land which will give them lots of money.

yea, hojo was pretty much "dead" by the time they woulda thought to fire him for screwin everything up lol
