Title: Is Final Fantasy II for the SNES different then the Final Fantasy II for the PSP
Post by: MileyCyrus on 2010-06-03 06:35:26
I just recently learned that they made a PSP version of Final Fantasy II, however the story line seems to be different then what I remember from the SNES... Are they infact two different games, and if so, who's stupid idea was this?

You are most likely remembering Final Fantasy IV, which was originally released in North America as Final Fantasy II, because Final Fantasy II and III had not been released outside of Japan at the time.

The PSP one is the real FFII, so yes, it is a different game.

Final Fantasy - NES, Released in US (as Final Fantasy)
Final Fantasy II - NES, Not Released in US
Final Fantasy III - NES, Not Released in US
Final Fantasy IV - SNES, Released in US (as Final Fantasy II)
Final Fantasy V - SNES, Not Released in US
Final Fantasy VI - SNES, Released in US (As Final Fantasy III)

The PSP remake of Final Fantasy II is the remake of a game that was never released in the US. The main characters are Firion, Guy, and Maria.

The game you are remembering is Final Fantasy IV (which was called Final Fantasy II for the SNES). The main characters are Cecil, Kain, and Rydia. There are a lot more but I can't remember them right now. This game was remade twice; once for the GameBoy Advance, and once for the Nintendo DS.

EDIT: Which is exactly what Timber said. I just wanted to elaborate a little more. :)

Dissidia Game:

Final Fantasy I - Warrior of Light vs Garland
Final Fantasy II - Firion vs The Emperor
Final Fantasy III - Onion Knight vs Cloud of Darkness
Final Fantasy IV - Cecil vs Golbez
Final Fantasy V - Bartz vs Exdeath
Final Fantasy VI - Terra vs Kefka
Final Fantasy VII - Cloud vs Sephiroth
Final Fantasy VIII - Squall vs Ultimecia
Final Fantasy IX - Zidane vs Kuja
Final Fantasy X - Tidus vs Jecht

I knew all of them but Final Fantasy IX. I'm gonna go look it up.

Kuja is the villain in final fantasy IX. :) I played this game a long time ago and I still remember him since I like that game.

I've actually NEVER played Final Fantasy IX. It looked kinda dumb. And they all look like they're 10 years old.

I actually kind of funny. Hehe they're chibi models that's why they look like that. And I think the princess there is kinda pretty too. :)
