Title: .s Files
Post by: sl1982 on 2010-06-05 04:16:30
Hey guys does anyone know what the .s files in the magic.lgp do. They seem to be files tied to related to the texture files but I am not sure. Perhaps the animation for the texture? Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

I'm taking a guess here, but I think it is the attack of the summons??
EDIT:My guess is wrong, and sorry not guessing again.

I'm pretty sure this was for discussion of what the .s files actually are for.   Let's keep it that way, please.

This can be sounds =)
Or it can be shapes - animation for sprite particles. In PSX version there are animations for billboard sprites that show effects like FIRE. Not really sure if this is it, but in magic effects there are only few things: assembled code, texture, models, models animations, sprites animations, sounds.

Sounds eh, thats interesting. I thought all the sounds were located in audio.dat. And if they are sprite animations then i wasnt too far off.

As I recall they are indeed .shp files, "shapes", sprite animations, whatever you want to call them.
They are certainly not sounds.
