General Discussion / Rocket Town BG edit

Alright. Then why don't they create a seperate BG renderer (Hell, do video too) and use that as a mod?

You could have the files merely bypass the main engine like how FF7Music does.

WAVE volume has to be set low. If it's not, then you know what happens?

BOOM!

I'm running a custom-rigged sound system. Rather than bother with constantly setting different volume knobs up and down, I leave them at one point and use the WaveOut slider on my volume control.

I AM hearing things. It's not FF7Music, it's the regular MIDI.

I'll try the config, though.

Edit: Nope. Still doesn't work.

Why don't you just write a new display engine, instead of doing the 16x16 blocks?

It solved absolutely nothing, but it's nice to know that when it works, it will work better.

Yeah, but if you look on Fice's site, it says it won't work with anything higher.

I tried out_wave too, so I doubt that's the problem.

Out_DS for output

In_MP3 for input, used only to see if it's working.

General MIDI set in FF7Config

Music Directories set

Using Ficelib 1.10

Ok, what gives?

It also appears to me you haven't bred a very intelligent chocobo, nor an obedient one.

Do you know what you are doing? You have to raise its manner if you want to get it to obey your orders...

General Discussion / New Det Drivers are here
« on: 2003-03-29 15:41:16 »
Yeah, see, I look at the drivers in terms of 2D quality, 3D quality, speed, crispness, and Video Quality (yes, drivers -do- effect video playback).

Right now the undisputed champion is the 38.80 driver set. I've been waiting for an update one to replace it for some time...:\

Tell me, how do these drivers run on a Geforce2/Ge2 Pro?

I use KaZaA Lite.

Anyway, PTrack is like the "accelerator" Aaron mentioned.
It pretty much does everything for you. It could best be described as a bot.

-_- The only issue with it is, it's an alpha-ish program, and thus riddled with slow bugness. It's fine as long as you don't do anything but run KaZaA, though.

I use WinMX and KaZaA.

Anyway, I use "Ptrack" and "Speedup". Both work great, however PTrack is new, badly coded, and slows down with time.

It's mostly an issue with the file-sharing software I'm running. It kind of eats resources, most of which I can't get back with stability. I'm running KaZaA lite with all sorts of badly-coded, new hacks. They eat and leak.

Me no like Creative Fonts. Kill :wicked:

Anyway, Windows ME is killer stable on my system, but that's because I took the time to tweak it.

The only problems I have with it are slowdowns after it's been on continuously for over a day, running file-sharing servers. A 30-60 second reboot fixes that ^^

The trick is disabling many of the background apps and makng sure you're running clean, meaning no background clutter that isn't from Windows itself.

"Winmgt" is EVIL. KILL IT!

You mean it literally crashed, as in destroyed your hard drive?

Or are you just having registry problems?

DLS-synths are usually hidden devices. Unless you're using Winamp of FF7Music, you can't really access them.

For example, my WDM device can really kick some ass on some applications, but I can't select it from the control panel.

What we need is a sort of a "loopback" as NetHead puts it, so that when you select the MS GS Synth, what you're really getting is the WDM device or MS DLS Synth.

Also, a DLS loader for Windows would be nice. Seeing as how there are no such loaders, except for your typical Creative or Turtle-whatever sound card. Replacing the GM.DLS synth (which is the main problem) is what we would be looking at here.

Stoopid Windows File Protection.

Once again the damn school computers delete a lengthy post.

Lemme summarize.

Nethead's is good but buggy and big.

Yours is small and doesn't sound too shabby.

We're all Lazy.

We could use Fice's help (wink wink!)

While not true for all systems, this should increase MIDI quality across the board on some configs (like mine  :D)

There we go.

Apply the REAL Geforce patch (someone get him the AVault Link?), and make sure Anisotropic filtering is off.
