Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2013-09-14 02:13:49 »
You can try my FF7 Music Patch, but if you don't have some Music-Files, you have to insert the Music-Files by hand.
If you have the Torrent package, there a file "OSTRe.7z" is also there.
Extract this into "[Gamedir]\FF7Music\OSTRe" or (if you have used my Patch) into "[Gamedir]\Ficedula\OSTRe".

You don't need a Folder "FF7Music" as long as you have all necessary Files and Folders inside the Folder "Ficedula".

You can open ".ini" or ".cfg" or ".log" files with a text editor such as "Notepad".
Highlight the entire text (right-click in Notepad -> Mark all),  then copy the text (right-click -> Copy).
Now change into this forum, create a new post, click on the # button, right click and select paste.
The pasted text should be between [ code ] and [ /code ].

If you do not have "FF7Music.log", that is, FF7Music.exe has not started!
You should start the game with "FF7BootLoader", this will normally also start "FF7Music.exe".
If not, you should take a look at the configuration.

Convince yourself that "music plugin" is selected.

Make also sure you have selected a profile inside FF7Music and the matching music files in the search path.

FF7Music.ini and FF7Music.log are in "[Gamedir]\FF7Music" or in "[Gamedir]\ficedula"
app.log and ff7_opengl.cfg are in "[Gamedir]".

all 4 files could be interesting.

For FF7Music you can try this.
If that does not help, please post the ff7music.log.

155
Many errors in the installation of FF7Music are generated by Bootleg040.
This Patch fixes (all?) the Errors that occur when installing FF7Music via Bootleg040.

FF7_Music_Patch.exe

The patch rescues the music folders, uninstall FF7Music and created a new folder "Ficedula" where now all the necessary data to be integrated. (Including a new "FF7Music.ini")

NOTE: If you have created your own profile, then this must be created again.  :P

UPDATE (!) 24-Oct-2013:
Default profile now exists (shit happens :P )
  Added Profile "Rerelease"

Troubleshooting / Re: Character Pyramid Cursor model?
« on: 2013-09-02 06:26:34 »
I have no idea of 3D models, so will probably be all bullshit, what I write now  ;D

Why should the cursor be inside the magic.lgp?
I would rather suspect him in the battle.lgp.

And as he hovers over the character's head, I would look for him in this area.

In this list are **ab and **da not identified (ie for cloud rtab and rtda), could that be the cursor?

I suspect that FF7Music not run properly with you ...

In order to test that, please delete the files "ff7music.log" (log file) in the folder "FF7Music" and "Ficedula".
Then you start the game short and ended it again.
See if a new "FF7Music.log" was created and write the contents in here.

Troubleshooting / Re: Re Release Frame Rate
« on: 2013-08-28 05:33:44 »
I can set the options (use_new_timer & use_stable_timer) as I want, it does not change the frame rate of the video  ???
But if the problem is solved for you so it should be alright  :)

Troubleshooting / Re: Re Release Frame Rate
« on: 2013-08-27 16:48:03 »
FMV's run fine, but during gameplay the frame rate is like, double what it should be.
The videos have their own frame rate (usually 15 FPS, 4 have 30 FPS).
If you set the "show_fps" option to yes in the "ff7_opengl.cfg", you can watch this.

Edit Edit: It seems I may have fixed my own problem. I found the Game Converter program and used it on my copy. It was still going too fast, ...
My Game Converter does not change the frame rate of the videos.

however a quick look in the custom drivers config had and option to use the old games frame limiting method. I used that and it seems to have worked!
Which option do you mean?

Now about that music...
Tell me more ...

... the only error while installing was windows saying it couldn't find 'Forfiles'.
Bootleg040 is not designed for XP, but can still be used.
After the Bootleg040 Omzy's FFVII Field Pack must be manually inserted into the mods\Bootleg folder.
You must also edit the "Run FFVII-Bootleg.bat", remove all "/AFFINITY F" (XP dont know about this).

I've just finished the first bombing mission, and after cloud jumps onto the train from the bridge, the sound cuts out in the next scene with Avalanche on the train. Once they all exit and go into the passenger train, sound resumes.

I've tried this a few times, it happens everytime so far, the scene is just completely silent. (If I remember correctly, there's no music in that scene, just the sound of the train and Barret hitting the box etc, so that probably rules out FF7music).

I'm running it on Windows XP SP3, anyone know what might be happening?
A known bug.
The game wants the music (MIDI) to fade out on some places, but the operating system alternates the complete sound softly.
But that this also happened with XP I have not yet been known.

With FF7Music the problem should be solved.
Alternatively, you can also install a virtual MIDI device.
At the Last works not fade in/out, the volume is always on.

Hi Aali,
I'm not sure if you still want to provide support for XP.
Under XP Vsync does not seem to work, I came in 20 seconds from ShinraHQ until the end of the road.
All settings on the graphics card drivers have caused nothing.

Bratcode nothing of use to me, "Bootleg.log" should be in your game folder.
If you do not want to make public that, you can also send me a PM ...

But possibly find many eyes more than just two :-D

I have for fun search the term "battle.lgp" in the bootleg.bat, it is used 370 times... :)

And there is no battle.lgp in my battle folder.
This is inexplicable...

Please add the "Bootleg.log" as [ code ] (the # when editing) here.

Where should make BFE the Temporary Files and how much free space is there?

Do you have a file "battle.lgp" in your "[gamefolder]\data\battle", which modification date and how big is it?

Ha, that's what happened to me once!

BFE.exe & Bootleg & Game need 40 GB of free space on the HDD.
If not enough space is free, not disassemble the eg battle.lgp and/or reassembled.
Place the temp path to another HDD.

It was using the custom driver at first. But I changed it around to see if it worked with different renderers.
Unfortunately this does not work, because of the movies.
To play the movie is the plugin of Aalis driver indispensable.

Copy the whole ff7 folder somewhere else and start GC.

I think now it is time to uninstall the whole game, then use my FF7-REMOVE-Keys.exe and to start all over again.

Install the game again in a new non-system folder.
After that run my GC and then start the game.
Write if that works.

Logarithmic Volume Control is checked too.
Does that mean that you have not used my Game Converter? (GC will removes the hook...)

What MIDI driver you have set, does the test work?

FF7Music used the same driver? (FF7Music.exe -> Configure -> Playback Options)
