Have you tried turning off v-sync? Since v-sync is tied to fps and the game has a framelimiter at 60fps.
I know VSYNC locks your FPS to your refresh rate, but I'm not sure if it works the other way around when a frame limiter is in place. Worth a shot though.

Was the Human Centipede any good?  I idea was crazy and sounded like a good movie, but did they spend more than $3 to make it?
was it any good....that's hard to answer. I didn't feel like i wasted my time with it, ala the new Nightmare on Elm Street. It's actually not as graphic as you may be led to believe, it has more of a hitchcock-type of grossness if you understand what i mean. The idea of what is going on is a lot worse than what is depicted.

nice find! The only thing i enjoyed with the brief time i used a mac was the way fonts were displayed. Great program, and the memory usage is minimal, i too am a startup/service miser.

more recently.... the human centipede! I have totally demented movie taste though, and the more off the wall totally gross, the more i am interested! Horror is also my favorite movie genre

Favorites off the top of my head:
Evil Dead(1-3)
In the Mouth of Madness
The Serpent and the Rainbow
The Descent
Texas Chainsaw Massacre(original)
The Mist
30 days of Night
Wrong Turn(cheesy as hell, but it knows it)

Also, to be totally freaked out watch "AntiChrist" starring William Defoe. It is seriously to only movie that had me clutching my knees so hard my hands hurt. The movie is absolutely terrifying, especially near the end. Not sure if it counts as horror, but it is easily in the top 5 movies i have ever watched.

FF7 Tools / Re: World Map to .Obj Converter (and back!)
« on: 2010-10-25 19:18:15 »
So will this let you fix the towns and better the textures or just the world map?
most of the towns are built from worldmap geometry, so in theory we can finally redo the towns properly.

Thank you Aali! I just wish i had more time to play with this new tool, too damned busy ATM.

« on: 2010-10-21 21:05:03 »
i had an new 3xxx series AGP card in my former desktop, and it caused me nothing but hassles even with newer games. Drivers would randomly corrupt, i would reinstall and all would be good....for the time. Random blue screens and constant artifacting and color-errors are a small sample of what the card gave me.

The cards are actually PCI-e cards, but there is some sort of pass-through that allows them to function on AGP systems...kinda. It seemed every time i upgraded my hot fix drivers, the card would become even more unstable and i ended up using the ANCIENT ATI Omega drivers, since they offered the most stability for my setup.

I was also able to play FF7 just fine with my ATI card, along with Aali's driver. I'd give the old Omega drivers a shot. The hotfix drivers are just hacks of real drivers that ATI puts out so 3rd party users have something to try.

I am still a fan of ATI though, just not those particular half-breed cards. It was poor implementation and even poorly supported. If nothing else, hop on ebay and grab the last HIS NVIDIA card that was produced. Its a solid card for being al old as it is, and if your rocking AGP still you can't really complain. The bus is wayyyyy outdated at this point, and your almost better putting your money towards an entirely new computer.

Team Avalanche / Re: New Project: Bombing Mission!
« on: 2010-10-19 21:14:50 »
currently i think if you can find a place to fit, go for it. I'm extremely busy until the end of this year at least, though i am dying to finish the WMRP(at least one thing could be 100%). Anyone is welcome to work on that, the textures i have provided are enough to actually finish it without creating anything from scratch.

I know nearly ALL enemy models are open game, with the exception of like the first 7-8 in the game. The vehicles on the field map have all been modeled, but need textures. I am almost done with the buggy, but all the rest still remain. Battle scenes(excluding the bombing mission) are all open as well.

Most of what can be done is basic retexturing of assets to higher resolutions. I have nearly completed the Battle Arena(need to get back to that..90%..) and it took me a total of less than 3 hours.

TA is still here, but i can agree with the comment of being a bit burnt out ATM. I hit the WMRP hard for 6 months, and it was a HUGE PITA before Aali added the missing texture printout, which every TA member can agree with.

keep waiting, we're still here. And if your impatient just download some tools and create your own assets until we get back :?:

any chance of incorporating the openGL driver settings into FF7config? As far as interface goes, the only thing i see missing is a n00b friendly way to adjust the driver setting.

Im also happy to report i haven't had any issues with crashing w/the latest version of the driver.

ROFL, when i left i there was only one, now there are coutless other... NOOOOOOOOOO

guess i'm gonna have to switch the the emergency backup...Whozentakenmehnam?

my user name used to bring up nearly 8 years of crap just about me... then those hacks at Pyrozen Studios jacked my user name and now i see tons of users who have it as well. Dirty SOBs, i know they had to directly steal it from me because seriously, who the f thinks up pyrozen?

actually, i imagine hermoor as looking more like tonberry, with the fatness, the cloak, and overall slow movement. Plus, hermoor has the mystic power of the norse gods, which enables him to make very damaging strikes just with a small knife :?:  The goblins are too hyper, not at all like a troll would act and masturbation would be impossible with those boxing gloves on.

188
lol, and the saga continues. With a bit of creative writing i think Square could actually base the next FF game on this epic tale. But one has to wonder, once Hermoor is banned from the internet entirely, and without actually people to talk to, how can he possibly get his trolling kicks anymore? Me thinks he needs some kind of twelve step program. Trolls Anonymous?

Or maybe he should just hang himself in his parents basement.

How ever the lack of professionality really irritates me on this forum.

how much more professional can you get than installers that automatically find your FF7 directory and install mods for you? Maybe you would like me to ship future versions of the Team Avalanche Reconstruction Project to your house with a full-color CD, Jewel Case, and instruction manual containing back story on the game?

lol, you can even buy retail products that come with that anymore.

I'd suggest getting a few hundred posts under your belt before you   criticize anyone's work around here, we're all REALLY tight like that.

work on my house, play guitar, go out to the bars with the GF, hang with friends(usually at the bar), work on FF7 mods(though currently im hooked on fallout 2 AGAIN)...and any manner of other fun stuff. Honestly though, video games take up the smallest portion of my time, i spend more time lurking on qhimm than i do with any other VG related activity.

Thanks sl1982. ;)
will be fixed at some point, i am extremely busy with real life ATM. Though there really aren't that many unfinised, id say less than 50 at this point.

i have this as well, and i have had it for quite sometime. My ISP is charter, and i dont use a 3rd party DNS.

wow lookin good any idea what u gonna make the lights look.
im n0t really sure yet. I could simply leave them the way they are, uber-details are kinda wasted on this since your so far away when you see it. If nothing else, ill make them silve to match the other metallic parts on the buggy. I just need to wrap up the backside and do the propellers and im finished.

got a little more finished. Not sure what the thing on the roof is, so its just grey for now. The hood scoop was a major PITA, but i finally got it looking good. Im probably 75% finished, the 2nd texture is a lot smaller and much easier to work with.

heres a start on my buggy, but it still has a long way to go and many details are not even fleshed out yet. I've set the highwind aside for now, it hit a wall and was not getting anything done. Im keeping somewhat with the original style, but something a bit more vibrant and futuresque.

holy... is this ff7 on an iphone?

i thought the reunion patch was rendered obsolete some time ago...

did you rename the original patch files as well? Since you altered the destination names, i assume you would also have to alter the origin files as well.

kefka looks like a drag queen, and honestly I'd be more afraid of what he would do to my butt rather than if he would take my life. Also, Sephiroth has genuine leadership/manipulation abilities which makes him scary, along with super human strength AND the help of an otherworldly being than can intertwine with your DNA.

no one would bother following a nut like kefka around, let alone help HIM dominate the world.

damn costa, im still toying with the highwind! I've been super busy lately, working on finishing my sunporch and concrete countertops, so time not spent doing that is spent having fun NOT at home ;)

I start school again next week though, so i should be spending more time at home so hopefully i can get around to working on them then.
