That rocks Otokoshi. It would be very interesting to use this in FF7. The clothes should be changed, but I supose it's not a big problem (just change the textures). The sharp edges looks like a bad normals problem.

Done. There you have the fixed version. I fixed the normals problems and another dangerous bug that was causing polygons to disapear while painting under some circumstances.
Additionally, I added an option to get the color of a polygon. While painting, hold shift when you click on the desidered polygon. It's colors will become the selected color.
Have fun.  :-D

Yes, sorry guys. I've found and corrected the bug. Normals were badly calculated. But I'm also fixing some other problems I found. Expect a bugfix in the next ours.

Troubleshooting / Re: Software SLOW!!!

Don't know waht to say Aaron. I used to play this game with my old PIII 450 with 128 Mbs of RAM on software renderer (640x480 Full screen) and it played fine most of the time. Animations weren't very smooth sometimes, but there wasn't any serious slowdown.

Just use the Win95 compatibility mode.

Errrr... no PM, I mean that you must chage your regional Windows settings. Your game version seems ok.

p90, the current installer doesn't allow to install the patch in a non-US game. This will be corrected with the next version. Sorry.
PM, sounds like you need to change your regional settings. LGPTools has problems with some regional settings.

So it seems Jari. Who could have imagined this? Now that movement makes sens. Certainly Sony is insulting european with every move they make. If the Ps3 manages somehow to end up dominating the market, it will be a real shame for Nintendo and Microsoft because Sony is giving them the biggest possible adventage.
As for the graphical upgrade possible through emulation... well, it's certainly nice (I bet it could look better since AA seems to be turned off in those shoots). But how easy will be to achive such a thing with an emulator without graphical glitches? Has anyone around here tested PCSX2? Even FFX (wich plays quiet well) has some evident clipping problems. Microsoft went with emulation and they are having a hard time trying to emulate an XBOX which is not very different from a PC. There have been PC emulators for ages, but how many PS2 emulators have you seen? Yes, of course it will be easier for Sony to emulate that system than it has been for the PCSX2 team (how long took them? 5 years to get something that can finally run decently a few games?), but I'm pretty sure it will take them time (and not a short time) to make a decent emulator.

Thanks for the support. By the way Wintermute, that's an interesting question. Whenever I do an NPC I don't have the slightest clue about which texture should I use. That's because most models use that stupid O mouth (even Sephirot). I've never understood why they choose this texture. If anyone finds a better expression for some NPC, please tell us.

Well, I've been working this weekend in one more character. I hope this one is less problematic:

Not a great thing but, meh, It's the first NPC y do in a lot of time.

I know I should stop doing off-topic comments but I can't resist :-P.
I see everyone hate Cait Sith with passion. He is certainly a traitor (and quiet useless in battles too), but I'd also like to remember you all that Avalanche is a terrorists group and in their bombing missions many innocents get injured or dead. It's quiet interesting how Cait Sith is the only one to point this in the hole game (correct me if I'm wrong)

Oh, I remember!
Nice video, certainly. Although it takes a bit too much time to see all the four episodes.
I specially laughed in the fight against Bush and Chenney:
-Maria throws a remedy to Bush
-No effect
-Maria:"He is beyond remedy"

Nop, sorry ultima espio. I'm still doing some fixes here and there. But I'll release a new version around Friday.
By the way, now we have primary Battle location support too. It's a bit pointless without a texturizer tool but, hey, It's better than nothing. In the bad news part, I still can't see what's wrong with the model merging code.

Awwww... I think I haven't explained myself correctly. I'm not interested in making models "realistic". I just want them to have better quality. But seriously, I find original Tifa's boobs plain disgusting. Just an opinon and I can see It's not very wide-spread.
About how the models fit... well, just take a look at the original field models. They barely resemble what you can see on the movies or even on the fights.
My personal opinion is that we should do them as good looking (not necesarily realistic) as we can. They won't fit in those lowress backgrounds, anyway. Nor even the battle models do.
Stormmedia's model looks very good. I think It's not very diferent from what you can see on the videos.

Thanks NeXar  :-D

I've got good news and bad news. First the good ones:
 - I've been able to get textures working in Kimera. This is nice because you won't get any more disturbing face-less models. But the best part about this is that now I can start working on my texturizing tool (or so I hoper)
 - I think I've solved the problem with the colors corruption. I'll need help from you to test out though.

And the bad news is that I can confirm there is some kind of bug with the merging function (the game behave far more strangely than biturn). I haven't seen where the problem is yet.
