Thanks a ton. Its amazing how much support you give random nobodies, and especially how quickly you respond :)

Is it safe to run Bootleg over an already bootlegged install to chance a minor option (like removing item retranslation for Menu overhaul), or must it be done on a clean install if at all?

I also have a more technical question; is there anything in Bootleg and all its mods that potentially affects the validity of saved games? Ie, even if I tried silly stuff that totally broke my install, would my saves still work on a clean install? Thanks!

Similar to the Taxi Junon issue I reported above, I want to report a second similar issue: in the Gaia Cliffs area where you fight ice spikes and bats and get the option to jump down or keep going leftwards to reach a chest that contains a Megaelixir, the choice to jump down or not that you get is inverted.

Saying you dont want to jump makes you jump and vice versa. Thanks!

Im not sure if this is a known issue or what but I have a odd glitch with the Junon taxi-helicopter. Asking it to take me out of town takes me to the other district, while asking it to take me to the other district makes the game go black screen until Alt+f4'd.

Using an otherwise apparently glitch-free bootleg, Full preset besides some manual portrait changes, current version.

PitBrad suggested that I repost this here, and I agree that this would most likely be related to this mod. Anyone can check to see if its reproductible?

Alright thanks. Ill just take my time getting there then... and then train in Junon a bit and do Battle Square or something :)

A small question, is the Aeris Revival mod contingent on being installed prior to her death?

Considering the current issues, and since 040 may be coming soon, I'm curious whether I may want to pause my game near the temple of Ancients, or whether I can let her die and magically bring her back later by activating the mod once 040 is out?

Thanks

I do have the menu overhaul and retranslation, yes. With the Opt out for Character names only.

I'd like to echo the request above, as alas Im only getting like 30KB/s on RS right now.  :x

There are several 100meg+ files that appear to be hosted exclusively on rapidshare according to the Big List of Mods and the in-bootleg links, and well, I'm getting terrible speeds, something like... 30kb/s ... from these...

Is there any alternative?

I sort of made one already, although that is not its main intention. I made it just to traffic the people from my YT videos to a simple Bootleg Guide that will be updated after every release. I read this thread daily and quote any bugs PitBrat reports.

Thanks, very useful!

Silly me, I had seen your thread but given the different name, I initially thought it was about an alternative bootleg :D

Once 0040 is ready, it might be a good idea to start a new thread will all relevant information there. This one is so huge its almost confusing, you never know if there's not some critical information "lost" somewhere not readily visible. Maybe its just me tho.

Aside from maybe upscaled FMVs and better compatibility with modern OSes, theres probably very little to see here.

I wonder if the mods here can be ported to this easily, and if not, whether the mod scene might as well just keep working on the old game...

I guess time will tell.

Tho I dont have the files myself, if a torrent is made for 039, I will seed it as I download and for awhile afterwards. I dont have unlimited bandwith, but I can promise a to seed at least 5 times what I download, np :)

Thanks for your hard work to everyone updating this bootleg and the modders.

Hello,
I'm new and I have one small question.
If I install this Mod, is it possible that I will be able to turn some of the features off?
like the +9999 limit breaker patch or the Hardcore mode Mod?
I really don't want those features.

In truth This will be my first play through the game, and I really don't want to change much of the game besides the graphics.
So should I install this mod or not?
Thank you! :)

I'm a new player myself as far as mods are concerned, but I may be able to answer.

Hardcore mode is totally optional and the 9999 breaker is part of it. If you play in Normal mode, like me, you should be alright. Nothing hardcore so far, and definitely no 9999-breaker either. I had the same worries, but I think youll be fine :)

Thank you for all your work! I just reinstalled FF7 and plan to give this a whirl :)

Honestly I was mostly looking for a graphics-overhaul kind of compilation, something that makes the game prettier without changing the gameplay much... I dunno if this will suit my purposes, it seems to have quite a few gameplay additions, but I'll give it a try anyhow!

Edit; Yay! I got it to work :) I skimmed over most of the thread when it was downloading, and the game looks great! I do have a question tho... what initially brought me to this website was the Team Avalanche graphical improvements. Since Ive never modded FF7 before, Im unusure; can I / should I install it over this compilation to make things even prettier, or would that be impossible / redundant? For now I won't push my luck and play with what works!

Also, just a little question! In the vanilla game, there was a bug that made Mdef from items not work if I remember correctly, only Spirit functioned. Is that corrected in this package?

Thank you again for making such a comprehensive compilation. I wouldnt have managed to make all this stuff work!
