I would say about 40-50 hours if you just zoom through it.

Personally, I think Triple Triad was better because it's not only fun, but you could refine items from the cards! :D

Wow, this thread is still alive?!?

Woah, hold up!

Since when have I had 3 warnings? Last time I checked, I had one or maybe two. But three? odd...

Wasn't this an FF forum?

Hmm... I didn't know OpenGL even supported fullbrights. :-?

Fullbrights are just a lighting feature though. They just seem to emit light in shadows but look the same in light. Am I right?

It's not completely hopeless. A simple solution is to make the game quarter screen, update the drivers, and turn off as many features as you can. A tool that can help you do this is the ff8 config made by a couple of users on these forums. Then, make sure that when you're on the world map, you zoom out! :P  And finally, make sure it's in DirectX and not software mode. Software mode will make the framerate hit 3 when you use a Rage card. You simply do not have enough memory with a Rage card for DirectX, so I would suggest slapping that TNT back on.

This worked on one of my old PCs when I first got FF8. The only problem is that during heavy battles, the video lags behind the sound a bit and skips a few frames. It's very playable though! :)

General Discussion / New FF7 Game?
« on: 2004-09-13 21:24:25 »
The N-Gage is a horrible system!!! The "three-dimensional" graphics look like half melted images of a mode7 game on GBA. The graphics are so ugly, they look like they came out of Nintendo's ass and then Nokia ate it and made it into an N-Gage game. You have to disassemble half your phone to switch games?!? Oh no. I'm not buying that crap...

Not to mention the fact that you can get an Ipaq for the same $300 and not only get better graphics, but you can get organized as well! :D

You could also use 250free.com. They give a fairly decent amount of space (250 MB) and bandwidth (250 Mbit).

Actually, my area isn't infested with rednecks as much as illegal mexicans... <_>

12
Some of these images are just plain retarded... :o

Are coordinates really that hard to get right??

Well, I guess so since every frame has so much code... :weep:

That might be true for you rednecks

Thats only in the south, the more...How do I put this nicely..."technologicly handicapped" states. Why does everyone in every other country think the entire country are rednecks...stupid western movies...-_-

But what about games? Is there any difference there?

Hey! I do live in south Texas ya know... I seem to be a hell of a lot smarter than some other people that have come and gone on these forums. :P

Addendum.

Yeah, it breaks my heart to see so much good work and effort put into these games all to be torn down by a copyright. Just a tip: always make sure it's legal first unless you want a company crawling up your ass about a copyright. :D

Actually, your television probably has more scanlines than your monitor. Scanlines make it look better because it replaces every other line on the screen with a black line and the tube gives off a blurry view anyway so you get what seems like a better quality when it is actually worse!  Monitors have a much sharper image quality than that of your television because they support resolutions that surpass your standard television by miles. It doesn't use too many scanlines either and you can see all the pixels that were blurred out on your television. :P

Squeenix/Eidos should just release an SDK.  That'd make our lives easier ^_^

Well, wasn't Gears aiming to be an info dump of FF7? I mean when Gears has more info, I'm sure it'll be like the un-lazy person's SDK! :D

For spoiler tags, just use this: [ spoiler] insert text here [/spoiler]

Or, here's a thought, just run a lot of stuff at the same time. Better yet, run a CPU test that's REALLY processor intensive.

Yes, a torus shape would explain everything except for the fact that you can move in other directions besides just vertical or horizontal. -_-

It's probably flat.

Oh well, people learn in different ways. Some think of it as a preperation for the next level and others think of it as an experience. Who cares?!?! As long as you know what I mean.

At least all the other FFs didn't have pre-Christopher Columbus syndrome where there was "the end of the world".

Note: I know CC wasn't the first person to think the world was round, but it's a general reference.

:o  I guess. Maybe it's because I'm going to the 16th best high school in the nation... :)  I don't see how you all don't see high school as a learning experience. Very troubling... you're supposed to plan your future in high school! What the hell were you doing then?

Hehe, for the first couple of months that I owned my GBA, I had FF8 Advance on my mind...

Now THAT would be something! :D
