Maybe try the thread I created: http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=3563 if that's what I think you are trying to do. Ficedula.dll must be in the same folder too (eh you probably know that).

I'm not trying to resurrect dead topics, but this one was already asking the same question. I'm looking for the FF8 Configurator 2.2 and all the links are dead. What has changed in it?

Does that work ok with the high res model?

General Discussion / ff7 question

Hi...

It's not possible to use FSAA without artifacts on ATI hardware.
You will have to set FSAA to "Let the application decide" and Anistropic Filtering to "Let the application decide" in the Catalyst Control Center.

I'm curious about being able to run FF7 in higher resolution too.

Can you show me where the "field and battle high res models" download is?

*EDIT....I guess that's the High Res Cloud patch.

MOD EDIT: That goes for you too. -_-

The instructions are wrong. Uncheck "loop"....go to the Input plugin and configure it. Check "force all songs to play indefinitely."

Maybe it was too long ago, but I don't think the Cloud vs Sephiroth battle has music. :-?

Archive / Simplified way to install FF7 PSF properly
« on: 2004-10-09 05:55:22 »
Heh, maybe I'm a little behind the times on the 8-bit ATI issue. Direct3D CAN work using the 1.02 and TNT mode...old news...but you have to set application preference to not only Anti-Aliasing, but Anistropic Filtering too (grid line artifacts otherwise). There is no other way to disable these.

Updated with that info.

I tried to change the path to the in_psf and out_ds files, but it's too specific (the path won't be consistent on all machines). It's using the Winamp path now, most logical if you have your in_psf file in the plugins folder.

Yep, go to volume control and add MIDI Synth as a device and mute it. You mean PSF files right?? I know the icon looks the same (just so we're on the same page). :D

Hey

I've read quite a bit about the installation of the PSF files and found a few inconsistencies in the ReadMe files accompanying the programs; where to place files (I had MANY duplicates after!), PSFs not locating, etc.
It took me a few hours and install / reinstall about three times, but after all the troubleshooting I thought it was worth it to do this.

Download the zip and read the instructions inside. Some of the paths should be fine assuming C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII was used. I included the in_psf and out_ds (recommended) in the Ficedula folder. I wrote simple instructions on ONLY the settings that need changing, the rest is fine; it comes from my own working ini file. Also, a short bit about graphics and sound issues for beginners is included (just problems everyone encounters - nothing like the depth of the FAQ).

Even though this is for the "Ultima" version, I own FF7 PC and paid something really silly for it when it came out. It's just 10x easier if you're starting with this version.

I hope this simplifies the procedures for getting those fantastic sounding PSF files to work!

I originally did this for some friends to make it easier who know me under a different alias, thus "Herren" at the end.
