I've read quite a bit about the installation of the PSF files and found a few inconsistencies in the ReadMe files accompanying the programs; where to place files (I had MANY duplicates after!), PSFs not locating, etc.
It took me a few hours and install / reinstall about three times, but after all the troubleshooting I thought it was worth it to do this.
Download the zip and
read the instructions inside. Some of the paths should be fine assuming
C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII was used. I included the in_psf and out_ds (recommended) in the Ficedula folder. I wrote simple instructions on ONLY the settings that need changing, the rest is fine; it comes from my own working ini file. Also, a short bit about graphics and sound issues for beginners is included (just problems everyone encounters - nothing like the depth of the FAQ).
Even though this is for the "Ultima" version, I own FF7 PC and paid something really silly for it when it came out. It's just 10x easier if you're starting with this version.
I hope this simplifies the procedures for getting those fantastic sounding PSF files to work!
