Well apperently this is the affect Anti Aliasing has on FF7 so obviously it isn't going to work. So leave it alone lol.

Unless yo use manual settings and leave one or both on  :)

Faster meaning for better performance and less image quality. In my opinion it look's no different at all and i supposedly get a performance gain out of it so why not???

3DMark 01 SE showed a slight improvement in score after setting high performance off for everything in D3D and OpenGL. This is coming from someone who doesn't see a difference between 680x400(or whatever) and 1024x768 though.

General Discussion / PS-PC USB2.0 Convert V

This is a tad oldish but iv'e just come across it. I use a controller similar to that of PS2 Dual Shock in usb port of version 1.1(USB 1.1) and soon to be using USB 2.0 with my new motherboard and i had no problems.

I don't use an actualy playstation controller though and i use DirectX 9.0c. Should just buy a cheap controller for the pc like i did and it has the same button layout as ps2 dual shock.

Well you seem to know abit about IRQ Conflicts and such so maybe you could help me out? lol. I checked what it was using after removing and and re-adding through add hardware wizard(i have to do this everytime i boot) and it said 9.

Now there's no IRQ setting for AGP in my bios on this old hardware but i heard something or rather about PCI Slot 1 having something to do with AGP so i set it to manual and to 9 but still the same thing happens. For some reason my driver setting's are also reset.

Perhaps for some reason it isn't saving my configuration  :o

Sound is onboard AC'97 and my bios for old motherboard im using right now doesn't display it. My gfx card i think is having IRQ COnflicts right now and i can't set it.

I tryed my new mobo, cpu and ram the other day but the ram is bad so i had to put my old hardware in for awhile and gfx card comes up with errors until i remove from device manager list and re-add it. Then i have to set all my driver settings again and again(everytime i reboot).

Mine were all set automatically and i had no issues until now.

Well on my previous card a Riva TNT2 i used the latest(at the time) 66.93 Drivers without problems. I never used any 1.1 or 1.2 patches as hardware settings didn't work for me only software mode.

The only patches i had applied were The True Motion Codec Update(to correct upside down movies and ones that crashed or it did for me anyway) and the chocobo race patch.

EDIT: That's weird your'e describing the problem i had with Windows 2000 SP4.

He said it try's to run when he runs FF7 which happens when it hasn't been configured or the registry settings are not present/incorrect. Atleast this is how it worked for me.

Well you coudl get DirectX 9.0c seen as it's the latest and there's no real issues with it. do you have Service Pack 1? that's what i use i never tested on xp home as is.

Compatibility shouldn't change a thing or atleast for me it didn't. Run the config first and set it in software mode then run ff7 and see how it go's.

Yeah it can take up a bit of space but it is more reliable. Eventually im going to get a second hd and use my existing one for leaving backup's there for as long as possible. I do usually put alot on cd-rw if necessary just to make sure for example if the hd starts going on me. If both went...........well then id be buggered lol.

Google for ISO Magic it's not free but you can use the trial to some extent, you basically put in the file's you want and tell it to make an ISO out of it and that's that. I think there may be a size restriction in the trial though so you may need to find a freeware solution if you don't feel like paying out for it.

Try copy the stuff from cd make an ISO out of it and download daemon tools and mount the iso image you made. I use ISO Magic from time to time if i need to create iso files. There are probably freeware utilities that do the same aswell.

I agree with that people get through these minor but very annoying protections so easily it's a joke and the company's that use them are really only wasting money. Does it really reduce the life span of the disk? they should be shot for that.

EDIT: Unfortunately for me there is a little one running around the house(my 2 year old sister) and she can get at just about anything in no time at all

I bought a game from EB(Electronic Boutique) once that was new but not a newish game and i had only used it once and after i had to format i tryed re-installing but the disc was stuffed(It had one of those protections). As to the cause i can't say for sure but it hadn't been moved from where it resided after it's first use.

If cd read errors are the problem there some software specifically for reading damaged discs though they are obviously very limited just do a bit more thorough job. Try do some google searching and give one a try see if it can get what you need.

If the disc is damaged but you manage to get the data i don't care what anyone says BACK IT UP!!!!!.
