No dice.  :-(  Checked and deleted the old flevel file and replaced it with the one on my disc and error is exactly the same.  My antivirus isn't running and none of my other mods are installed yet so I can't really tell where or if i messed something up.

I think I can get by with the rest of the Overhaul working as is for now.  Great work btw! The FFX style is boss!

elminn_1 error is normal.  The other ones are caused because you have not used a clean flevel (you must have used M004?  or something...)  Those maps above will not affect anything.  There should be no problem.\

edit.  Seems that info is not in the readme anymore?  My fault this time.  I instructed to use clean files if you had used an older installer.  I will place that back in the readme and FAQ.

I thought that might be the case, but after running a completely fresh install and pulling the flevel.lpg file straight from the disc, this is the result I'm getting.  The rest of the Menu interface is working as it should according to the various youtube vids posted.

I've been playing through my game and decided it didn't look cool enough so I tried my hand at installing the Menu Overhaul (m005a). I've been having a similar issue to Cannasteve with not being able to get the beautifully made backgrounds for the general game menu.  I have tried this with a clean install and with Aali's Custom Driver's installed and configured.  Please before just telling me to read the FAQ/Readme just know that I have several times and have not been able to find any info pertaining to my particular issue.

This is the log I get after install is complete:

Code: [Select]
Error in startmap: Incorrect number of entries: 2/11
Error in blackbg2: Incorrect number of entries: 24/42
Error in blackbg3: Incorrect number of entries: 18/28
Error in blackbg4: Incorrect number of entries: 54/72
Error in blackbg7: Incorrect number of entries: 16/25
Error in blackbgi: Incorrect number of entries: 10/17
Error in blackbgk: Incorrect number of entries: 16/21
Error in elminn_1: Incorrect number of entries: 16/17

Any help would be greatly appericated!  :-)

Hmmm.... Having some trouble trying to determine which files to replace with the ones you've shown here.  I will probably just switch over to a different model until your new installer is released.  I've got to run the bootleg once more to fix some other issues I'm having so it seems this would be the easiest thing to do for now.

Luksy,
I do have MTCRL_9 = 0 in the ini.  Bootleg doesn't run Touphscript directly, unless the user selects an option to translate the game to another language.  Could this be from the Menu Overhaul installer?
Anyone experiencing this issue, did you select NO CHANGE for the translation option in BFE?

Ancient_Juan,
There are some bad animation files installed with the Asmodean Barret.  You can replace these files in the battle.lgp archive.
    SBDA, SCDA, SDDA, SEDA
Use the corresponding files from one of the other Timu Sumisu based Barret models.

Kleyon's T&M Barret Field.rar                   Kyo13           HQ Barret Model with New Arm Cannon     Qhimm FILE

This issue is fixed for the upcoming 0039 release.

Thanx Pit! I'll give that a shot!  I need to see if I can get some other mods working first, so I'll let you know how it works out soon.

Hey folks!  I'm back with yet another annoying question. The Bootleg installer has been working great, and with a few manual tweaks here and there, I've got the best install of the game I've ever played so far...with one exception.  This annoying glitch with "Timu's+keylon's+Asmodeans Barret Model" where Barret will preform a melee attack with a ranged weapon is starting to work my nerves!!  I remember seeing a post some were that showed a way to manually fix it (I believe Pitbrat provided a fix?) but can't find it anywhere on the forums.

A link to said page would be awesome! Or if anyone could help me out, that would be awesome too.  I love this forum and all the hard work being poured into these mods, so I apologize if I come off sounding needy.

So far so good since I last posted!  It seems I'm running into a new issue now with FF7Music only playing music selectively.  It may have to do with the files being .ogg since I'm using Timber's Remastered files to get rid of pauses in looping.  Never had an issue with them until I used the Bootleg tool.  Posting just in case, but it may be unrelated to Bootleg...

Never mind, ignore me...i didn't have the right pulgin installed.  ;D

Ahhhh Haaaa! I figured it out. My zip file had the folder containing the installed data zipped into rather then JUST the install data.  This apparently keeps the boot loader from working its magic. I'll update when its all said and done, but so far so good!

Hmmm...yeah. I don't know much about bootleg. I had a rough time with ff7 and mods and bootleg. I finally have everything working but I've never heard of your problem.

All I can say is...the program resets too default settings everytime you open it. Before you run it just male sure your install path is set correctly. Sorry that's kinda useless I know :-/

It's all good. I'll give it another go and if I can't get it working I'll just go back to modding manually and leave out the stuff that requires bootleg.  A lot of the mods that I was using worked great manually, I just really wanted the Rounded AC Avatars!  :x

I've used the square Inc directory and had it work fine. I know you said you followed the basic steps but did you install it outside of a system folder (not in program files).

Also...you did a MAXIMUM install from the CD instal disk right? You don't news too patch the game yourself...bootleg does all that for you.

Yup! I have it installed on a separate partition where I have other games working, always do a maximum install, and as far as the bootleg is concerned, I don't patch.  I was playing the game for a while just modding manually.  Not all of the mods I installed actually worked so I gave the bootleger a shot.

Under the 'installation' tab. Are you sure that your directories are 100% correct?

Yeah it looks that way.  Maybe I need to get rid of the "\square soft inc.\" section of the path to make it work?  I'm not sure if thats the issue though since the game works for me when I do a basic install and take the necessary steps to make it work on Win7.

I'm having some serious issues with this Mod installer.  I've downloaded all the Mods necessary and followed the Noob's guide step by step.  Each time I click Run Bootleg my installation seems to start and then I get an error that says "Missing ff7.exe... Bootleg Aborting..."!  I loose my entire installation, have to restart my PC, and install from scratch.

Again I've followed the instructions verbatim ( about 4 times now) and this is as far as I get!  Can anyone help me out here?  I apologize if this is the wrong place to post...I'm new here.
