Thanks for the informative answer. I will keep this in mind if I experience any type of consistent crashes in the future. Cheers

Okay, so far I have been play in normal and remastered with the same save file. I've also tried running that same save file with Hardcore mode, LostWing, Harder Items, and it seems to work okay at the moment. However, when I installed Menu Overhaul, I recalled reading that the re translation wasn't working and such (though that might have already been fixed in MOO5a), so I decided not to include that in the whole install, maybe that can be why the bug isn't acting up yet? Thanks.  8)

Okay, so I just got everything installed and running correctly. I was wondering what each mode meant. I did attempt somewhat to try and find each mod and read the 'readme' but those threads aren't so each to find. Back to topic: I understand the hard, harder, hardest mode (what she said yeah yeah), but what of the other modes? Perhaps go over the main points in each mode. In addition to this, everytime I re-open bootloader, it starts back at 'normal.' Does this mean that I can choose to play any mode at any time with any save? I'm very new to this forum, so lots of catching up to do and I apologize if I offend anyone with my stupidity, at least I'm persistent and honest.  8-)

Yep, I know what you mean. I just finally got done correctly installing the game after hm...5 days of installing and uninstalling with over 50 different ways of approaching it. My suggestion and what had worked for me was:
1. Turn off UAC.
2. Turn off all anti virus/anti malware.
3. Don't bother with running as admin or checking the compatibility box.
4. Restart computer.
5. Install FF7 cd rom into C:\WhateverYouChooseToNameThis (Make sure to uncheck the two ticks that were checked and do maximum install)
6. Then run bootleg. (Read the command prompt for further instruction; and don't forget readme's. I know we hate it but you'll be surprised at the amount of info you can find there...at least for future reference when you come across the next issue.)
7. Voila! Should be working, if not, repeat the process again, and again, and again! Third time is a charm, for me, minus 100.

5
Damn that's weird! I installed the whole thing again and now everything works flawlessly. However, just one tiny issue, and I tried looking everywhere for answer, but I haven't found one. Has the issue of Aeris' attack sound been brought up? She makes that sound attack voice that I think Barrett and Tifa use to make. Has that been fix yet or no?

6
Okay, I have solved it! I left out Menu Overhaul and the overlapped disappeared like it was magic.

7
I read somewhere here that you need a dedicated video card from the Nvidia 200 series or newer. I don't do AMD, so no clue there.

BitPrat can probably confirm this?  8)

OKay, will do. Thanks.

nlee1201,
You may need to disable compatibility mode for FF7.exe.  Some systems don't like running the .exe in compatibility mode.
Also, try running the game with the SAFE setting in Bootloader.

ineedhelp,
Did you mods folder also beging with C:\final fantasy . . .
Don't use a mod path with spaces in the name.

Yep, I used no spaces in any of the path folders. I'll update my drivers sometime later and then see if anything changes.

9
Alright, thanks. Can you direct me to a list of system requirements for the overall ff7 mod?, if it's not too much trouble for you. Once again, thanks.

Hello I new here I would like some help please, I downloaded the configurator and mods everything installs fine up to a point. The problem comes near the end when saying updating remix files adding texture slots repairing damaged models. Now I did think to myself this could take awhile so let ran and did something else 2 hours and thirty Min's later it was still hanging there do you have any idea what is up or do I need to wait longer. I am running it on a laptop with windows 7 64 bits  service pack one, my specs dual core I5 2.4 4.5 gig of ram nvidia deforce 330m graphics card with 1 gig video memory.

I wish I could help man, but I'm dumb as dirt. Sorry.

11
oh and delete the textures folder

Nope, that made things worst lol. Thank you though, definitely was worth a try.

Ineedhelp,
What video card do you have installed in your system?
The game is trying to use an intel gpu that is not compatible with the OpenGL driver.

Th overlapping text is due to that Menu Overhaul font not installing correctly.
Did you install any mods after Bootleg?

I believe this is what you're asking for? Intel Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 3.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2509
I didn't install any mods besides redropping Aali's custom driver back in the install folder just to make sure it was running correctly, but even when I didn't do that, same results.

13
Nope, didn't solve it. :-P

14
Thanks, I promise this is the last question(s).
Why are my text overlapping?

Why can I not see the limit and time bar and some other stuff?

Thanks to all those who contributed!
P.S. I unticked limitbreak9999 so that's eliminated. I already tried safe mode, I've uninstall reinstalled the game more than 10x's. I have all the needed mods in red. And now...I can play like that or hopefully there is a simple fix to it.

15
Thanks.
I have a new problem ;/
Now I get this pop up message when trying to run the program: "OpenGL renderer appears to be the Microsoft software renderer.  Your graphics drivers are probably not installed or installed incorrectly.  Expect Extreme Lag"
I already tried updating to newest graphic drivers. Can it possibly just be my driver is insufficient?
I believe it is Intel Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 3.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2509. intel core i5 processor. Running Windows 7.
This will be my last attempt then I suppose will settle for the original non mod version.

Okay, so I used "Take Ownership" and now everything seem to installed. However, it still crashes at first battle. I've tried safe setting and it still crashes. I'm using the original version of FF7 pc. Now I'm clueless. I have the dmp file, but I'm still trying to open it. I will post it when I open it, but if anyone has any suggestions for the time being, feel free to let me know. Thanks.

I've just installed the mod using bootleg configuration. However, I ran into the problem of not being able to successfully install ff7music during bootleg configuration. The second problem was the first fight with guards at train, the game just crashes with a message saying "Something very bad has happen..." I have installed this on system folder program. I know this is a no brainer, but can anyone tell me the steps to saving the files on non system folder? I've tried saving it on the drive that is used to install the game, but it has no room. I'm not sure the problem, but will give this a try if anyone can show me. :-(

Hi, I have a question in regards to the bootleg configuration. I have already downloaded the "ff7_enhanced_movies_1.zip"(Enhanced FMVs part 1 of 2) and "ff7_enhanced_movies_2.zip" (Enhanced FMVs part 2 0f 2), but the alternate downloads are still in red, do I just ignored that? To be more specific, the first part of the file of the alternate download is yellow, but the following parts are red. For example, part 1 is yellow, but part 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 are still red. Okay, that's all for now, thanks.
