Troubleshooting / FF8 PC controller issue

Game does not recognize my ps3 ( converted to 360 via motioninjoy controller ) any more

It worked the first time but now it just won't read it

I went in and tested it on the controller calibration and it works fine

it works fine in everything else

it worked fine in ff7 when I used it

why am i having this problem?

Troubleshooting / new install , finally got everything to work EXCEPT dpad

hey I am using PS3 controller with motion in joy driver

game works great but I am forced to use analogue stick instead of the dpad

i cannot get the game to recognize the dpad which sucks because playing with the analogue and picking commands isn't as fluid

does any body know a fix for this?

I have the 1998 version of the game already

Now BFE calls for Palmer and the links in there are dead,so I went to the big list and found something to do with palmer.

 I am not sure if its the same thing.

I also read that there will be another BFE this month. How is that coming along?

It used to work great , now it crashes every time for no damn reason nothing has changed

So I delete everything and try to redownload and I notice ALOT of dead links.

How am I suppose to do this now?

Maybe somebody can upload the full shabang in a torrent?

Thanks Pit, I will deal with the models and the different menu layout ( I am starting to grow accustomed to it the more I play with it). The sound effects thing worked great , I couldn't stand the new ones

1. How do I fix the sound effects and menu layout?  I want the original, the presets and the settings in the ff7bootleg don't seem to want to let me pick them
2. I would like a way to get some different models for tifa, aeris etc


any help and tips will be appreciated

Iamjash,
Are you running BFE.exe?  Try starting BFE.exe instead of Bootleg.bat.

yep this is after running bfe.exe and hitting run , however it IS missing OSTRe.7z will this make it not even attempt to run?

so I have started to go thorough the installation process. I finally get to ostrE.zip and damn is it hard to download from rapidshare. The other links are bandwidth bogged and I have to wait 3 hours from RS.

Still can't get the damn thing to get past access is denied despite me , changing the permissions on absolutely everything on my C drive to full control. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.


32Bit Installation
Final Fantasy VII Installation Located:
"C:\Games\FF7\"
Access Denied! Installation Aborted!!
Run Bootleg.exe with Administrator Priviledges.
Right click on Bootleg.exe and in the context menu:
    Select PROPERTIES
    Go to the COMPATIBILITY tab
    Check the box by 'Run this program as an administrator'

Removing setup files . . .
Please remain patient . . .
Completed Clean up.

Bootleg Aborted!
There was a problem during installation.
The game files might be damaged.

Please do a FULL install of Final Fantasy VII to a NON-SYSTEM folder.
Make sure that all MODS are in the SAME FOLDER with Bootleg.exe.

Close all open FF7 files and folders before starting Bootleg.

I have followed all of the procedures and reinstalled ff7 and bootleg multiple times , I am ready to just give up.
