@PitBrat, no, I was just wondering if for the release of Bootleg .40 if you were going to have a thread for the beta testers to apply or test out the changes, or if you were going to just release the while thing and fix it as it goes?

Keep in mind that Intel video cards are not compatible with Bootleg.

I correct the base models conflict.
There are a lot of model choices in .040.
Cloud has 22 field models and 10 battle models!

I still need to fix all the presets.

Remix is still required for a few options.
I never found a working link to the OCRemix tracks.

Also, does anyone know what movies the Remix uses?
I believe most of them are Grimmy's.

Not much changed in the list . . .
But it took me 4 hours to fix the base models.

Are you going to start a new thread for beta testers?

My vote is spend more time to fix it. Otherwise, I am going to predict a lot of repeated questions about it.
This, by far. I think do it right, or not at all. And remove any possible things that could result in more work. ;)

So I can't even get the game to run. I'm probably not doing something right, but EAXUnified doesn't install, and repeatedly gives me a "Unable to load custom driver" error. I can launch FF8, but it sits there with a black screen, and the only way to close it is to use task manager.

Is there going to be a update on the big list of mods for all the newley added material, also is there going to be a new torrent with the new bootleg and all the mod and the newer stuff.
Most likely. All of that kind of goes in hand with a new release.

I'll wait a bit longer for omega res novae to release a fixed weapons pack for Cait Sith.
I also need to correct all the presets.  Because of all the added model settings, the presets are all broken.

I suggest you make a beta thread and release it there as beta so any new users will download and test it and post their issues there.

Well, from what I've heard, once the ULGP tool is fixed, this problem will be fixed. And I think PitBrat is just waiting for it to be fixed before he releases .040.

So apparently my email stopped getting emails when someone posted on this thread. That's annoying. lol

Any news on a ballpark ETA for .040? I seriously can't play with REDXIII and Aeris broken like this. But I'm also stubborn and won't revert to the default models. Woe is me. ;)

The torrent actually needs to be redone because it has both sets of the ff7_enhanced_movies and both sets of the FacePalmer textures. You only need one or the other, so the torrent size is larger than needed. I have compiled the mods correctly to reduce the space, but I don't know how to create a torrent. Any takers on this?
If Demonoid was still up, I'd be down. The best I can do is write out how to make one.

hey guys, been lurking for a while - a big fan of the group :)

I have been using the remix version, all i had to do was install the game, then run the setup.exe and its been working great

under what circumstances would bootleg be better? because from what i see, you have to download each mod seperately and use bootleg to install?

either way, rock on!

Bootleg, from what I understand, is a more complete mod pack, where it has many options to the user. This allows for my game to be different from yours, which is different from someone else, and so on.  It may be a bit more of a pain that remix, but it's really the freedom you get from bootleg that I personally prefer.

Yes, from what I've learned and read. When you change or modify your mod settings, you have to run bootleg over again, so it can make the necessary changes.

I don't know if this question belongs in this forum but maybe it is related to the bootleg? After leaving Midgar for the first time and going to the small town near Midgar for cloud to tell his story, during the flashback when the train gets attacked by a monster and you fight it with Sephiroth; I cannot get past this point because Sepiroth's attacks keep missing!?
Something to try with that is reinstall it, without bootleg. Using your old save file, you can continue from your recent save and get to that point, see if it was Bootleg or if it was just something else wrong.

Kind of a roundabout way of figuring it out, but being a tech major, I've found that the surest way to figure out the problem of something is to remove one thing at a time until it is solved.

You've got the same thing I did. Not much you can really do at the moment, aside from hope they fix it in the next release.

From what I've been reading, no, you don't have to reinstall FFVII. As long as you're not trying to restore to defaults as far as I can tell. There is no "reset to default" option, but if you want to change a mod, you can select a different option and it will change it for you. You will, of course, have to do bootleg over again.

So, still playing, and apparently Red XIII is also failing its textures. Shredded just like Aeris is.

What folder are you using for the mods?
From what folder are you running BFE.EXE and BOOTLEG.EXE?
What is the TEMP folder?
Don't use any system folders.  Don't run anything from desktop or documents.

I'd be willing to take the time to fix it now, if you by any means would care to tell me the process?

I honestly don't want to have to look at shredded Aeris. Haha

I've never seen this before. There is an "Aerith All White" fix, but that doesn't seem to be your problem. Have you installed the HQ Aeris? Aeris Revival? What difficult mode did you choose?
I installed the HQ Aeris, and the Aeris Revival. Difficulty is unchanged, simply because I've never actually beaten FFVII and I wanted the original feel but updated graphics.

So, I got bootleg working, and everything is working as it stands, up until Aeris/Aerith joins my team. Her entire lower half looks to be shredded. Like, the texture that is supposed to be there is transparent in some places, and opaque in others, and I cannot figure out why, or how to solve it. Help anyone? =)
