There are other posts in this thread of people that had this problem and solved it, but I don't remember all the solutions. Only other thing I can think of to do is to search your entire computer for a scene.bin file and see which one has a cooresponding modified date on it. What windows version are you using?
Windows 7. But never mind, I'll figure something out, or just forget about it and continue without any modifications.

The most common is that it might be saving the scene.bin in the VirtualStore folder in your user folder. If you run PrC as Administrator that likely will not happen. That's likely what's happening.
I figured the same, so right-clicked and ran it as administrator to no avail.

It doesn't seem to be working. I click create scene.bin, it ask if I want to check scene data in kernel.bin, I pick yes and it gives the message that kernel.bin look-up table appears to be correct.
When I open scene.bin again, nothing was saved and I confirmed it in-game too.

And you think that five minutes of their time is less valuable than the oh-so-terrible inconvenience of you following two lines of instructions? Do you have any idea how horrifically self-entitled that sounds?
I think that asking for 5 min of anyone's time (including my own) doesn't sound entitled at all. I thought this was a place to help other people, not a competition to see whose time is worth the most. I also did not ask for the author to personally service me, but the assistance of the community.
People got very aggressive fast even though I was perfectly civil the whole time. So far as having a moderator come to fan the flame even though I'd already dropped the whole thing.

Two things are preventing me from saying what I want to say: no one is irreplaceable, and I happen to like the enthusiasm here. Rather than be warned or whatnot for whatever hot-headed thing I was GOING to say (I was SO close to clicking "Post") let me just attempt to calmly say that this is not the place for requests like that. This is a support thread for WallMarket. You complained it wasn't working and I suggested how to solve that. I didn't provide you with "nothing".
Alright, noted.

since you asked so nicely, here

Thanks a lot.

Edit: hey, did you just troll me? :P

... and I'm not sure what kind of changelog you want?
"All monsters edited, made them stronger and smarter."
"Edited a few weapons."
"Edited some materia."

stuff like that?
Well, there's very little descriptions is what I meant, which makes it hard to compare different mods. I'm hesitant to use more drastic mods that heavily changes equipment and materia because I feel it becomes a different game. I would be perfectly fine with a more traditional harder difficulty, like smarter enemies with more hp/damage, which reasonable difficulty does to an extent. The hp/dmg ratio is more skewed towards hp though because of the aforementioned no 9999 limit. I guess I'll check the mods you suggested.

From the first post:If you won't install what's needed then you won't be able to use it. It's common computer sense. It's a library package, not a virus.
I'm sorry to have offended you by requesting something that would've taken 5 min. I also said that I'm not thrilled to install a library package for a simple, one-time thing.
Thanks for nothing.

Maybe it's too much to ask, but can anyone help me edit my kernel/kernel2 to allow the ultimate weapons for all characters to have normal materia growth (ex Premium heart (materia growth: none -> normal))?
Wallmarket crashes for me, maybe my PC lacks visual basics or something, but I'm hesitant to install something additional just to edit this simple thing.
I have mods so I uploaded my kernel.bin files in case they're already modified from default.

also, nope, you have to go through every enemy manually. you can trick a little by syncing enemies with their own copies but that still has you manually edit every unique enemy once
if you want harder, just try the hardcore mod then?
Do you mean gjoerulv's hardcore mod? Really, all these mods have a severe lack of changelogs. I have no idea how gjoerulv's mod compare to say the reasonable difficulty one. With that said, while a bit more overall damage would be nice, what I want most is to drastically increase the overall HP of monsters, because I'm playing with no 9999 limit. Reasonable difficulty on average has 25% more HP I think, but I want more.
Thanks for your answer anyway.

I'm using the "reasonable difficulty" mod in Bootleg 0039, but I still find it a bit too easy so I want to edit the enemies. I have two questions really:

1. Is there any way to edit the stats of all enemies at the same time? For example, if I want to double the hp of all enemies in the game. I really don't want to go over every single one manually.

2. Seeing as there isn't a readme included, how do you save? I open the scene.bin but every I close it nothing saves.

So I still haven't figured out my last problem, but moving on:

I just read about the spirit/mdef armour bug. The only thing I've read about it is that it's fixed in the 2012 version.
Now I "downgraded" my version from 2012 -> 1998, is the bug still fixed? Or does Bootleg fix it?

Now it seems like it's fixed. My spirit is 37, my armour gives 8 mdef, my total Magic def in status screen is 45, but I'm no expert, so I'm asking here to make sure.

Did you delete your entire FF7 folder after you uninstalled? After uninstalling, mods (e.g textures) get leftover and it turns into a junk folder. Installing there again will just give you the same results.

I don't think it's an oversight when you can preview it before installing.
I installed it in Games/Final Fantasy VII. Uninstalled, then deleted the entire FFVII folder.

Also it's kind of hard to judge it on an image when you need to see it in-game. But I want to know how it is installed. Is it a simple texture swap? I don't understand how I can still have it after a complete re-install...

I know this issue is not game-breaking or anything but it's still annoying you know. I didn't spent hours installing and configuring this just to mess up on a single wrong texture...

Edit: I just did a complete and total re-install again. This time I also deleted everything in the registry I could find on FFVII. Still the same.
Either there's something wrong with bootleg or this Mike Flame thing gets installed in the kernel or something...

You are getting "No Change" mixed up with restoring the original. No change means it doesn't overwrite and install anything new, so whatever texture is installed will remain untouched. I am not at home to check right now, but I believe the limits are stored in the textures folder. If it were glitched, then you would just delete it, but in this case you need to replace it. This means you need to run Bootleg again and select a different option, aside from "No Change" and "Mike's V2" to see anything happen. To get the original limit texture, you need to reinstall the game, then select "No Change" before running Bootleg.
I just uninstalled -> reinstalled the game (2012 converted). I ran bootleg with the same settings except no change. I look at the texture/limit folder and I only see the default texture, certainly not Mike's texture.

But I still get Mike's Flame V2 when I load up my save and use a limit.

I don't understand, is the limit break change not stored in the install folder? Because I deleted the entire folder with the uninstall. So, is there any way I can manually remove Mike's Texture and restore the original? It seems like quite an oversight in Bootleg to not be able to restore it to default...

Hi, I have a question:

I selected Mike's Flame V2 limit texture, ran it in-game, but I want to remove it.
I selected "No change" and ran bootleg again, but the limit still looks like Mike's flame.

Do I need to manually remove it, and if so, how do I do that?

Thanks.
