I have just released the first version of "Moogle Earth" - Final Fantasy VII (7) 3D World Map for Android to Google Play Market. (Phones & Tablets)

It took alot of work to put together and more is coming!

Next I'm planning to incorporate live FF7 related chat into the app, as I don't have time to steal a walk-thru or make a proper Beastiary at this moment.

Thanks for checking out my first real app!

@LazyBastard LOL "Thanks Jimmy!"

Micky, I'm MiLO83 working with LazyBastard.
I am animating / rendering some FMVs for him, but before I became an animator I was a ROM hacker.
I partially translated Brave Story for PSP, put Zelda as the playabe char in Minish Cap GBA, and made Link a driver in Mario Kart Super Curcuit GBA, etc etc. Patching, Lz compression, pointer tables, blah blah.

Believe it or not I can code for squat.
I can however take something thats coded and adjust it lol.

Anyway, have you heard of Noesis? Its a python model viewer / converter with a .py plugin system.
You can write your own import export scripts and the GUI, model preview controls etc are already there.
I'm am potitioning for a move to this platform as it already has import / export scripts for the best 3d model formats / software.

If you are already re-writing the Battle Stage Viewer in .py, can you please write it as an import (/ export ?) script for NOESIS?

Here are some quick docs to get you started! :D

"http://forum.xentax.com" is an amazing hang out for all this model format reversing stuff.

I have plenty more to ask of you, cause i typed my first python hello world yesterday (trying to convert your PSX Battle Model viewer python script from 2009 to a Noesis plugin myself.) but i'll give time to read about Noesis first. The main idea is you can import and export models to / from Noesis to so many different formats.

I don't know where I should introduce myself.
My name is MiLO83, I am 28 years old, and live in Canada.

I just discovered that tools are finally available to mod FF7 for PSX, I am an old ROM hacker and I check if PSX tools are out yet every few months.
Seems i found some headway has been made? I HATE being a noob, i have 3 diplomas in 3D animation and modeling, and a resume of ROM hacking experience.
I have been waiting and waiting to mod FF for PSX, I tried back in the day like 3 years ago and gave it a solid effort but couldn't find enough documentation to
feel i could reach my intended goals.

I have opened the PSX .BIN (iso) and i can see all the files lol. But i'm not a noob per-say i have done this sort of thing before many times.
I haven't read all the docs and i should but i'm excited to get clouds model exported into my 3d software, so i can look at the rig, create my own player,
(using clouds bones so the animations still work) and then recompressing the model and patching it in the iso. I know all about headers and pointers and such from other games,
none of which is FF7 specific. I tend to learn very fast i have a technical brain and have been using hex editors for over 10 years to tweek rip and patch. Lz compression, no problem.
I can help figure out stuff that hasn't been figured out yet. Can you tell me who i need to know, and how to find them? I guess I will read more docs in the mean time, I am specifically interest in modding PSX FF7 only.
I translated Final Fantasy 4 for GBA into Polish for fun cause i had a friend who is from Poland and he said it wasnt available in polish. (I looked for patches and found none)
I don't even speak a word of Polish but i ripped the script, got him to translate it, and put it all back in the game for him with non-game specific tools.
Just your regular ROM hacking toolset you'd find at Zophars.
Please if you have any interesting posts i should read, or know anyone else focusing on PSX modding, let me know!
Thanks!
