The Chinese titles are official; there are no official English titles (other translations are possible). However, some albums like Di-Dar and Coming Home have only English titles.

I found that many of her songs had English titles but they were in Chinese :S

General Discussion / Final Fantasy VII Fighting Game
« on: 2005-07-14 16:14:54 »
I remember, when I went to the arcade around 6 years ago, there was a fighting game with FF7 characters, such as Cloud with his sword on his back, and Tifa, and I think other FF7 characters. I didn't have a chance to play it though because we were going when I saw it. My question is, has anyone ever heard of this game, or played it, if so what is the game called?

5
are you sure those are in English? because when I clicked on "Own This CD" on any of the albums, it had the song titles in Chinese :S

Hi, I'm wondering if the singer of the song "Eyes On Me" (Faye Wong) for Final Fantasy VIII has any other English songs and albums. The only song of her in English I've heard are "Eyes On Me". Does anyone here know of any more?

Archive / given up on uk version
« on: 2005-07-09 05:26:23 »
You know, I've given up on trying to get Final Fantasy 9 UK PAL to work,  after I read somewhere that the American version doesn't have copy protection and works fine on ePSXe, so I just bought the NTSC American version from ebay, and that works :D I'm having so much fun playing FF9 now, I didn't remember it to be this much of a challenge, it's definately the hardest FF I've played :P

My char.lgp is edited, do you think that might be the problem?

« on: 2005-06-28 00:24:55 »
Yes, I'm using ePSXe 1.5.2, I tried ePSXe 1.6.0 and PSXeven, but the same thing happens in all of them, they all crash past the cheat menu on the hooligans patch, or just a black screen without a patch :(

Frontend didn't work either :(

Thanks corpse and everyone else for all their suggestions, but I couldn't get any of them to work, I guess some things are just not meant to be :(

yes it does, but to fix that you have to hard patch an ISO image of the cds as explained above, if you want a more detailed guild PM me

Yeah, I patched an image I made of it with CloneCD and UltraISO, and I tried pressing O and X to get past the cheat menu, but the same thing happens (it crashes ePSXe). I guess some super natural force is preventing me from playing FF9 ever again lol. I just wish they made a PC version of FF9.

That sounds like a very good idea L. Spiro, I always wanted to play FF7 online :D Like have a battle with my friends and see who is more powerful.

Is there a place I can download what you have done of your engine so far? like a beta release?

Releases / same thing
« on: 2005-06-26 19:12:08 »
The same thing happened to me, when I tried running the patched ff7.exe it just starts up and disappears again, when I selected Windows 95 or Windows 98/ME compatablity mode it started this time without disappearing but it was just a black screen :( I wonder what's up.

« on: 2005-06-26 18:50:35 »
corpse, I've tried this patch before (Hlg-ff9.zip), but it didn't work, but I'd thought I'd try it again just in case it did, but with my terribly bad luck, it didn't work this time either :( it just crashes ePSXe when I get past the cheat menu.

How do you access the debug room in FF7 PC?

For people who don't know how to access the debug room in the PSX version:

I remember you had to add a gameshark code to PEC on ePSXe for the PSX version of Final Fantasy VII:

Japanese Release
800987F4 0041

American Release
8009A05C 0041 (original code)
8009ABF6 0041 (improved code)

United Kingdom PAL
80099F2C 0041

French PAL

Archive / Getting FF9 (PSX-UK-PAL) to Work on ePSXe
« on: 2005-06-26 17:03:07 »
Yeah, I read somewhere that you needed Pete's CD plugin to get it to work, and to make a SBI/M3S file out of the .sub file:

About your problem... The latest Peter's and P.E.Op.S. CD-ROM plugins give you the option to read subchannel data (this is required to run some games). There are quite a few ways to read subchannel data from a game but the most compatible is the following:

1. Use CloneCD to make ISOs your 4 FF9 disks. Make sure that you configured CloneCD to read subchannel data from the disk(s) and that you saved each disk on a different folder.
2. Open the emulator and go to the configuration of the CD-ROM plugin (you must have Pete's or P.E.Op.S. CD-ROM plugin selected) and from there choose to create a SBI/M3S file.
3. From there choose to convert a CloneCD .sub file and go to the directory were each of you FF9 ISO is. From there choose the .sub file of each cd (ie: FF9_CD1.sub) and then choose to create a M3S file and give the name of the output file (ie: FF9_CD1_patch.m3s). This procedure must be done for each CD (4 times in total).
4. After that configure the plugin to use subchannel SBI/M3S info file for subchannel reading and choose the file you created for each cd (ie: If you want to run the second FF9 disk you should choose the patch you created for the second FF9 disk).

If you have any problems you should read the help files that come with ePSXe, the plugins and cloneCD.

But unfortuneatly this didn't work for me either :(

I think it'd take around 3 years for a new engine to be made as well, but with a team of programmers, around 10.

What are those pictures you posted? is that your engine?

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / :(
« on: 2005-06-26 00:29:02 »
Oh well... I guess it's all up to me then, I have plenty of free time in my hands. :D

Expect it to be finished in around 10 years time, when no one cares about FF7 anymore :P
