Fixed it. sorta, it was the sound driver being blank in the ff7 config file, why it was blank is beyond me. However NOW i get no SFX ... just the music. Ideas?

It seems if i go any time without playing (Like for say a week or so) my Bootleg decides not to load up anymore. Now when i load up the FF7 Config it constantly stops working. I have done nothing to any of the setup. The only thing i have done is NOT played it for the last week or so. Any ideas?

Tried swapping the sound drivers and yea theres just NO SFX at all. Just the music

... Switched the synth in the last tab and it fixed the no sfx bug. Thanks very much for your help

Lol i never would have thought the "Sound Driver" would keep it from starting. Got bootlegged FF7 working. Played it the last 2 or three days. Only up to the 65th floor of the Shinra building (like 2-3 hours in) .....
Not really the point how far i am but still it was working and i have changed NOTHING since. Now it wont even load up. I click "Play" and i get a Black screen which switches to a slightly less black screen and then i get back to my desktop.
Suggestions?

Hello all as the title states im having issues modding my ff7 w/ bootleg. I have downloaded the 17+ gig Tifa package. I have also reinstalld my FF7 multiple times.
I have my setup like this. C:/Bootleg .. now within that folder i have 2 folders... Bootlegmods and FFVII....within FFVII i have another folder Final Fantasy VII....... C;/Bootleg/Bootlegmods has the Tifa package as well as Bfe/bootleg. C:/Bootleg/FFVII/FinalFantasyVii has my fresh FFVII install.
Now when i run BFE i do not use any of the presets i just pick and choose the models/textures etc that i want. When i open the Mod list i have a good 75% green and the rest yellow. From this point i run Bootleg. It extracts and does its thing. I Iet no errors or anything like that and it takes about 10 minutes to complete. Once it is completed and Bootloader shows up it shows only two things. "Load Anywhere" and "Training" (its like krahmers training or something like that) and then in little letters above those it says "No modes installed"
Also in BFE i have
Destination path = C:\BootLeg\FFVII\FINAL FANTASY VII\ (This is where my FFVII install is)
Mod Source = C:\BootLeg\Bootleg Mods (This is where BFE/Bootleg/Tifa's Package is)
What am i doing wrong?

So i tried to find a thread to see if this was already up but the search function is disabled. Apologies if there is already a thread about this but. Does bootleg and ff7 work on windows 8? ... if so is there a tutorial out?

I did that. It still says i dont have permission to change or delete the file. Im running as admin. Im even opening "Windows Explorer" as admin. I have reinstalled Aali's custom drivers as well and still get the "ff7config.exe not responding" right after the cmd prompt window shows up

So i think i did this correctly. I found the .dll that my above post said failed. I downloaded it and tried to put it in however it says that i dont have permission to edit the contents in that folder. Even though i am the administrator. Help?

I as well am getting an error when i try to "Play FF7" Says that "ff7config.exe has stopped working" ...

if you're using vista/7/8 then you probably need to turn off Data Execution Prevention for the executable files. Here's how:

Hello all, im rather new to these forums and just recently (Last few hours actually) stumbled on the awesomeness that is modded FF7 (have been trolling youtube all night watching vids) To get to the point. Im an AVID FF player (that is up until 13 but thats another story all together 
) I just recently bought the newest release of FF7 for the PC and have been trying in vain to mod it via Bootleg. Im constantly getting the message saying that Aali's custom configuration is not there or is not installed correctly and have had 0 luck in doing it. So A) does it work with the downloaded version from Square-enix (the one with the achievements and such) and B) If so could i request some help?
