I've noticed something I never noticed before.

When character reaches limit and I try to select it, the pink color is very faint

But when transparent battle boxes is turned off it shows the correct color

Ignore this if this is how it's suppose to look like when transparent battle boxes is turn on  ;D

Sorry for responding late, there is an option in the mod to reduce/remove artefacts, you can try enabling that.

Thanks, good news, bad news Chrysalis.

Bad news is if you meant the setting called "Battle menu artifacting fix", I tried it that time and there's no change. After playing around with the settings, seems like it's not only happening to the bars but everywhere, didn't notice it because I used the original border size but when I use Thinnest UI border, I see it everywhere.

The good news is I think I may have accidentally fixed the issue ...for now ;D

Apparently I went and play around with FFNx settings and found out that if I set the internal_resolution_scale to 2, the artifact disappears  :-[ So I'm sorry for this oversight, I'm a noob when it comes to these kinds of settings, I didn't know that I have to do that when using 16:9 ratio  :-P

Hey, thanks for replying.

Here's the screenshot:

Normal (4:3)

Widescreen (16:9)

Only noticed artifacts on the Limit and Time bars, maybe a little bit on the Barrier bars:)

Hey, thanks for this mod, its really great, especially the controller buttons.

Is it a known issue when I enable widescreen (16:9) that I get battle menu artifacts? And enabling battle menu artifact fix doesn't fix the issue.

Thanks

7th Heaven / Re: Screen Resolution Issues With 7th Heaven
« on: 2019-11-25 03:44:28 »
I sort of have the same zoomed in problem but in different situation.

My main monitor is 2560x1440 and my secondary display is a HDTV which is 1920x1080.

So I start 7th Heaven and FF7 in windowed mode from the main display and when I move the game window to my HDTV the game get zoomed in and when I move it back to the main display it remained zoomed in.

I've tried all the suggestions here for the DPI on ff7.exe, ff7_bc.exe, 7th heaven.exe to no avail. Also changing Windows 10 scaling option for secondary display to 100%.

I also checked settings in FF7Config.exe, I CAN set where the audio goes to for example either to my main speaker or to the TV but there's no option to set which display to use, there's only one Primary display and no secondary display to choose from, I wonder if I need to do something for it to see my HDTV?

The only way to get around this for me is to set my HDTV as the main display :> So when I start 7th Heaven and FF7 it will just show on HDTV with the correct scale.

Any other ideas on how to play it on a secondary 60" display ?

p/s: My HDTV is connected to my Home theater system and then connected to my PC GPU.

You are correct.

The p0data2.bin contains both datas of the enemies (AF) and textures of the battle scenes (Fraggoso's NPC mod).
You can't use AF without the datas of the enemies; there won't be obvious bugs for some time (except that enemies are not changed from vanilla) but it would eventually crash on some key fights.

2 solutions:
• Just use the p0data2.bin of AF and play with non-upscaled battle scene textures,
• Merge the two p0data2.bin. You can do that using just the "Unity Assets Viewer" tool that is included in Hades Workshop:
1) Install the p0data2.bin of Fragosso's NPC mod (the other files are irrelevant during the whole merging),
2) Open the Unity Assets Viewer (in HW's "tools") and open the game with it (selecting the FF9_Launcher.exe),
3) Open the archive p0data2 inside the UAV and sort the files by their type,
4) In the UAV's options, make sure that the "Automatically convert images" is deactivated ("Don't convert"), it makes things go better,
5) Select all the files of type "Texture2D", right-click and "Export selection"; that's the files upscaled by Fragosso,
6) Verify that a folder "HadesWorkshopAssets" has been created in FF9's folder, containing all the exported files (you shouldn't be able to see the images as they are not converted),
7) Close everything, install the p0data2.bin of the AF mod, reopen the UAV, reopen the game with it, reopen the p0data2, sort the files by type,
8‍) Select all the files of type "Texture2D" again, right-click and "Import selection". It should print a success message.

Once that's done, you have a p0data2.bin that contains both Fragosso's HD battle scenes and AF's enemy modifications.

I didn't do it myself because, as you said, that makes huge files to upload and I didn't want to multiply the versions "AF + Fragosso's HD backgrounds" / "AF + Fragosso's HD backgrounds + Fragosso's NPC" / "AF + Fragosso's NPC"...

Thanks Tirlititi for the quick reply and detailed explanation. Now we're getting into the technical territory aha, I may try to follow your guide just for fun, since Fraggoso's NPC/Background/World is still work in progress I may just wait or just use AF's for the time being.

Thanks! ;)

Hi, thanks for your work. I have a quick question, if it works with FraggosoHD mod does it mean it will work with Fraggoso's NPC and background mod? Fraggoso's NPC mod has p0data2.bin & p0data4.bin to be replace and AF has p0data2.bin & p0data7.bin, the file size difference for p0data2.bin is huge, Fraggoso's p0data2.bin is around 2GB and AF is 150MB, so with this info, I guess it won't work?

After installing Fraggoso's HD mod and NPC mod, i've installed AlternateFantasy_v5.0_FraggosoHD and it seems to ..work, I've also tried this same method but instead i did not replace p0data2.bin (2GB) from Fraggoso and the game still starts without problem.

Just curious if there's any more information regarding this? I'm reluctant to replace Fraggoso's 2GB with AF's 150MB, it felt wrong lol something is going to disappear.

Thanks

I usually do a fresh install of my OS once a year. It's like cleaning my house. The process makes me  but the results make me :-D

Hahah yes I use to do that, is like spring cleaning, but now I only do it when there's problems like this one, installing stuff as a go along, but reinstalling all games, is a pain :D

Lol paranoid huh? yeah i guess it just feels nice somehow when your fresh ;D i haven't fresh installed my vista for 4-5 years :o

4-5 years on Vista? Now that's impressive man hehehe

^ If you want you could try this tool i think it helped me:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30135
It basically repairs them or choose to uninstall and then redwonload by windows update i think and it should be solved :D ... or you could still simply format again lol no harm in trying i guess

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried it and it doesn't seem to help  :-[ Guess is time to refresh haha. I still enjoy FF7 as it is now though hah

@ Notorious
I had the same problem as you i stupidly force uninstalled .Net2 on my vista pc >.< took me months to fix it but also a simple reformat will do the trick and use windows update if you don't wanna fix it manually

Hahaha I hear you, I also did the same thing with the NET Framework, uninstall, install again, didn't know Windows 7 has build-in Framework 2.0-3.5, crack my head trying to install 3.5 SP1 which didn't do anything lol. And yes I guess formatting the whole thing will be the easiest thing to do now.

12
Oh thanks Vgr, I didn't see that and thought only NET Framework is needed, I found something about Microsoft Visual at http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12008.msg167326#msg167326, so I'm going to try that  :)

Update: Nope, after that it's still the same, I think my OS is messed up somehow, probably have to reformat the whole thing or wait to see if 0040 works :|

Hi,

I'm using Windows 7 x64, I've downloaded the Bootleg0039 and try opening BFE.exe but it just stopped working right away. But I can open it on another computer even without Final Fantasy VII installed.
