Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.3)
« on: 2015-07-01 03:13:32 »
Okay, love this mod to death, so I started over again. I figured I give the Arrange mode a shot, even though its under construction, and everything is good except for two bugs, though I don't know if has anything to do with what I did (e.g Change the spell names from their old names to the current ones ((Fire3 to Firaga, so on)) but in the Wall Market, when I am in the middle of doing the crossdressing sequence, if I talk to anyone in Wall Market, like the guy that gives you the Membership Card, you can't exit out of the dialogue, it just freezes there and no input are registering. The game is still running normally but you are stuck in the text box. After bypassing that with Black Chocobo so I get the Card to progress and going all fine, but when you get to the Sewer, you can't climb the ladder. I press every button on keyboard and controller, it doesn't seem like I can climb up the ladder and didn't give me this issue during the whole Sector 5 Reactor sequence when I could climb normally, its just here.

I might go back and start over with the Original Mode to see if it still occurs, but I just wanted to be sure if this is just some of the bugs that are in the Arrange mode.

Actually I was able to get it to run normally, turns out I had to do what Kaldarasha said and lower the internal resolution to 1024x768 and now the game runs normally.

But yeah, I know my laptop is pretty basic. Was given as a graduation gift from high school for college, but it serves me well. If I can play Skyrim with some tweaks and at medium setting, then I don't mind.

Rather get a better laptop suited for gaming but can't really do that now.

[00000150] ERROR: unhandled exception

I would only run NT itself and nothing else, except maybe the Tweaks and Cheats mod just so I have use of the Skip Cutscenes. Plus no music seems to play either even though I would also use the Music and Sounds mod as well but looking in the VGMStreams folder, there isn't anything there so if I was playing the game normally using the Mod Loader, no music plays.

Also checked the FPS for when I play the game minus NT and just the Tweaks mod, it would stay at 20FPS but FMV scenes like the intro plays normal speed but when the game starts, it dips down to 12FPS. If I was playing the game on Steam normally, my FPS would remain at its normal rate.

Sometimes when I use Vsync within the loader when I start the game, it would give me the message "GLITCH: Unable to turn on Vsync." Even figured that using RadeonPro and try to adjust it so I can have it tweaked to run normally didn't work though helped me see how much FPS I was running.

I didn't know until today that there was a FFVII Mod loader. That makes it somewhat an improvement over Bootleg since you don't have to uninstall the game and reinstall it fresh if you want to change the settings.

Though, trying to play the game with FH, the game lags considerably and I never had that problem when playing the game normally as the regular Steam version, or using Bootleg since the OpenGL Configuration options on there seem to adjust the settings a bit more better than what FH can do, cuz I literally tried every method to try to get the game to run at a smooth framerate but no dice.

Mainly I just want to be able to play New Threat but its been a hassle for me this evening because the game is running sluggishly where it runs normal on Bootleg, granted I had to install Bootleg THEN NT afterwords.

Even if I don't have any texture mods active it still runs slow. How can I go about trying to play using FH but still be able to have it run as good as if I was playing with Bootleg, cuz I know that you can't use both and can only use one or the other.

Actually I found it XD I dun know how I missed it. Now I gotta find the right camera angle for it and the right animation for it. Kinda of remembered it resembling an attack where a blue sphere appears and has a crystal inside of it and lightning bolts go into the ground around it. Right now Im using the Southern Cross animation for it until I find that attack that causes the animation above.

Okay I think it resembled Stardust March, but I could be wrong, for all I know, it could be Stardust March, that is mixed with another animation, if making a custom animation for a attack and spell is possible.

UPDATE: ATOMIC RAY thats what it was! Now Im good.

Hello

I remember playing one mod for VII, that incorporated the Holy spell, which I thought was awesome in so many ways. However since I am using Bootleg, none of the mods I got had Holy as a usable spell in it and I want that experience again. I remember that the animation for it kinda of resembled the North Star enemy attack, I can't be sure, but does anyone have a good idea on how to create a new spell over one that exists, or know how to create one from scratch cuz my knowledge on modding FFVII games, is little to none. XD
