Troubleshooting / xpaddler not working

So I'm trying to use my xbox controller to play FF8 and I dont want to use the custom controls that are set up for it. I have my xbox controller off when I open the game so that it's set for keyboard. When I turn on the controller and xpaddler it doesn't do anything. When I move the controls in xpaddler it shows that it's working, and I mapped the X and D and such keys to my controller as well as the arrow keys to my left analog. For some reason it wont work ingame. It worked a couple days ago, but for some reason now it does not want to work. Am I doing something wrong?

I already have it so it always runs in admin and I moved it into my system's folder because installation wasn't working at first. I'm sure I could probably move it to my desktop now that it's up and running.

Alright thank you for your help. I just searched for save01 and found it and placed it into my slot1 save folder.  Do you have any idea why it didn't save to my save folder in the first place?

Hey guys! First time posting here and it's because I have a issue!!!

I am playing FF8 like it says in the subject, and I have about, 10 hours of gameplay into it.

So I went to play it today and when I went to load my game, it said there were no save files. I found that quite hard to believe because I was just playing last night. I open and closed the game a few times and it was the same problem. I decided to just make a new file with Hyne and set the progression to where I was. When starting Hyne, I come to find out that my save file is actually still there. For some reason when I got into my save folder it shows that it is empty, but when I open up an editor, I can see it just fine.

Can any of you help me with trying to figure out why my game isn't finding my save file?
