Troubleshooting / Re: Mods won't apply

I'll try that next time I'm on my computer. I don't know why I ran Avalanche, probably because I ran BFE and didn't get many of the mods to work. I dunno. This is hard and my brain hurts. XD

Yes, but then I realised I had basically overridden my setup from BFE (right?) so I re-ran BFE. After that, the game looked same as it had before- fancy Barret and icons, everything else basically normal.

Hey all, it's me again, feeling dumb. Again.

Can you tell I'm new at this yet?

Anyway, I thought I'd installed everything properly and run the right programs. After running the Avalanche.exe or whatever it's called, I' started the game and found the opening video to be the new HD one and the 'new/continue' screen had the new shiny buster sword on it. Seemed promising.

Then I started playing.

The field models were all original, as was the soundtrack and Cloud's model and sword. (strangely enough, only Barret's battle model seemed to be different.) Closer inspection reveals that the only things that have actually been changed by my full week of modding are the materia in the menu (they look nice and detailed), Barret's battle model (he looks pimpin'er than evar), and the item icons look nice. Also, the text is all jammed together. I don't remember setting anything for that.

I set up BFE.exe to make the game exactly how I want it to look (AKA utterly fantastic), and none of those setting applied. What do?

Thanks so much!

No, I can get to the menu just fine. I found the up/down buttons even though my laptop doesn't have a numpad- but what is the select/choose button? It doesn't seem to exist.  :?

See, I was thinking a similar thing. This file is in charge of saved settings and whatnot, it shouldn't be causing my game to not run.. But here it is, right in the APP.LOG

ERROR: could not open file D:\FINAL FANTASY VII\ff7input.cfg

I'm out of ideas..

Troubleshooting / ff7input.cfg

I've struggled with installing this mod for the better part of 5 days now. Got so. Agonisingly. Close yesterday.
This morning, I finally found my problem- a movie file was out of place and missing from the program files on the drive I have the game on. Simple fix. There was a second movie missing as well. Another simple fix. Tried the game again, and it said it was missing the file ff7input.cfg

This file is not in the Big List of Mods- does anyone know where it is? I can get through the intro video (very nice, by the way, did you guys make that too?) and the eidos.avi, but after that I get the New Game/Continue and can't move the cursor. It's here that the error message pops up telling me what file I'm inevitably missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

reEDIT: I lied, I actually haven't found the solution. Time for more internet-digging, I guess. This is getting exhausting.

P.S. First post!
