7th Heaven / Re: [FF7 PC] Mod Manager - 7th Heaven 2.0

So, basically, the graphics driver can't really handle shuffling around the large size mod assets or clearing them from memory when not needed?
Doesn't sound like the easiest task, fixing that up. My memory handling crashes sometimes occur after just 6 screen changes and sometimes up to two hours. Seems somewhat random, and not actually related to running out of RAM or VRAM according to my hardware monitors. The game often crashes with only 1.8GB of VRAM allocated.

After a PC restart all of my issues came back. There's been no change in the FF7 files or the 7H setup.
I won't be mucking around with Windows reinstalls to older version or virtual machines just to mod the game. I've already done 3 full reinstalls/redownloads. Don't have the time or patience for this.

I figured my problem out. It might be the cause for other people with similar, strange behavior.

I made the mistake of installing Aali's driver before or after using the GameConverter.
The converter installs Aali's driver during the process, and so doing both creates conflicts and odd program glitches like the bad paths. I suspect anyone who has had to do the "640x480" compatibility mode has made the same mistake, as well as anyone who has weird load problems, and the people who have had menu corruption issues.
[edit] Because I suffered all of those symptoms while trying reinstalls [/edit]

Perhaps EQ2Alyza could add a note in the tutorial to alleviate confusion?
FF7_GameConverter_7h does all the necessary set up work, and manually installing the Aali OpenGL driver will cause problems?

I've got this as well. Doubt the hardware matters.
As a preclusion, I've faithfully followed the 7H instructions and load order.
I've also had to force 640x480 compatibility mode on the FF7_bc.exe as seen in this thread http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=18658.0

I think there are a lot of problems with Aali's OGL driver and Windows 10?
The Aali settings in 7H don't stick (internal res, selected shader, and VGMStream). There are text drawing errors as well.

Looking at the APP.log, there is a faulty file tree when accessing the shader.           Down here V

[00000000] ERROR: failed to stat file D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\/shaders/Nvidia_ComplexMultiShader/ComplexMultiShader.post

Is your Aali modpath set correctly in Workshop -> Settings? They should point to the [gamedir]\mods\Textures folder and FF7 Game Converter should have created that folder for you.

Everything was/is set up as intended, it seems to have been the load order.
I moved the texture replacements above everything but the battle weapon models and it began working. From playing with the load order for a f̶o̶r̶t̶n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶  while my guess is that for some reason character field/world model replacements had been interfering with texture loading.

I'll have to add that I mistakenly used the bootleg converter first. But after manually scrubbing all FF7 registry entries, ran the 7H version, and haven't had an issue so far.

Long time qhimm lurker, first time poster. Hi everyone
This is fantastic work, and it really streamlines the modding. Thanks to everyone who has been putting it all together!

I am running the steam release.
Battle/magic/field upscales simply are not working in the game. Everything else works fine (sans MO - that is one touchy mod for me). I have had no problems running game edits, model replacements, music. Just the textures. Even activated, they just don't seem to be there in any way.
FF7_GC notes no errors or issues in the conversion. APP.log shows the 0.8.1b driver is functioning as intended. The openGL options all function, internal upscaling, shaders, tex cache, etc.

I'm really at a loss here, and feel that there's something simple I am missing.
Any help?
