The tittle say it but let me tell all the story

I reinstalled my old FF 8 today(the 5 discs version not the Steam version) and as expected i had a small graphical problem. Then after a search i found i can use Aali's custom driver with FF 8. After copy/pasting the files the graphics turned back to normal without any problem. However now i ran into a new problem, my controllers are no longer supported and the game don't use the ff8input.cfg. if i remove the Aali's custom drivers the controllers are ok but of course the graphics are back to uglyness.

Once again, after some search, i found someone suggesting using Pinnacle Game Profiler to map controllers to make it work with FF 8. I did install it but even if it works for my other games it doesn't work for FF 8.

So is there a way to fix that? A file to modify perhaps?

I prefer using ePSXe to play PSone games. If you get any kind of error when you try to play it with your emulator it's not the game's fault it's the emulator's fault. Legend of Dragoons might not be supported by psxfin.

I suggest you go on the psxfin home page(if it exists) and check the list of supported games.  Some games ask for some extra tweaks to work well with emulators. Legend Of Legaia is a good example.

General Discussion / FF7 Steam version ... what are the mods that works?

Hi all, as the tittle of this topic implies i'd like to know a list of mods that work well on the Steam version of FF 7 without too many procedures. I bought the Steam version today because the old one i bought a looooooooog time ago is not working well on my new pc - graphics are uglier that they used to be, impossible to set the correct driver and the cinematics are really ugly and pixelized - so here i am with the Steam version.  After having viewed some great youtube videos showing some great mods like Tifa's 7th Heaven, a really good mix of great mods, i asked myself if this could work on my Steam version.

I had some bad experiences with modding Steam version of some games and i must admit i'm not really trilled at the possibility of having to spend hours and hours trying to make mods work on my FF 7 version.

One more thing, for admins, if this post is not in the right section please move it to the right section. I honestly think it's at the right place but i could be wrong.

EDIT/UPDATE : After a full 7 hours of experimentation with FF 7 Steam and mods i can safely say that Steam version allows very little modding without bugging(or it's just me not fully understanding how it works ). In fact only old mods like Cloud Hi-res model for battle, the AC menu avatars and characters model rebuild work fine without crash.

Since i still had my old FF7 version(the original on CDs) i tried to implement all the mods included in "Tifa's Package" using the FF7 Bootloader on that version and surprisingly they all works without any crash. Amazing results and great works from the FF7 modders. Fortunately there is still modders for this game

I think this post can be closed since i know the answer of my question and unless someone has something to add i don't see any reason to keep this one open.
