Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.5)

The Reunion version of NT is all NT text, the Beacause part isn't compatible with NT.

Ok great, thanks for the clarification. Judging from earlier posts I'll probably wait until 2.0 comes out to give this a try, but I'm excited for it!

Heya, another Reunion related question. When using the Reunion version, are the vanilla parts of the story script yours or DLPBs? I imagine probably yours but I wanted to check and make sure.

7th Heaven / Re: is 7th heaven right for me ??

7th Heaven isn't just about modded graphics and things. It's a mod manager, designed to handle most if not all FFVII mods from graphics to audio to gameplay. With 7th Heaven you would be able to switch back and forth from New Threat to Hardcore without issue, as 7th Heaven injects the mods into the game when it launches as opposed to actually permanently modifying game files. However, it's meant to be installed over the vanilla game, so you'd need to uninstall Hardcore first. I can't remember if the standalone installer for Hardcore lets you restore the game to its original state but you'll need to do that before using 7th Heaven. It may even be necessary to completely uninstall the game (you can back up your saves) and reinstall it to make sure 7th Heaven installs correctly. Once you do that though, it certainly makes modding the game much easier and more convenient.

Ah ok. I wasn't aware of the bug tracker, my apologies. I'll report there if I find anything in the future. I am happy to hear I helped a bit though! I actually haven't been able to play lately but I'll likely just play on a different version of the game until after the Opera scene so I can continue.

Hey all! Wanted to report my successes, as well as some bugs.

First off, I got the hack working and am happy to report that it works near perfectly on its own, as well as patched together with Rodimus Primal's Ted Woolsey Uncensored retranslation patch. No errors so far caused by using them together.

I have, however, hit a wall. I chose to use the "Other" selection for the Opera sequence and now the game softlocks at the part where the player is meant to select the correct line in the song. Once the line is selected, Celes walks forward and the game freezes, but the music keeps playing until the whole song has finished then just hangs forever. This is both with and without the retranslation patch, so I think it's the song selection.

Will there be any way in the future to change songs out without reinstalling the hack every time? It'd be nice to not have to sit through a long installation every time I want to change only one or two songs.

Other than that bug, no complaints here! I know it's a beta, so I expected to bump into something, just thought I'd report it.

7th Heaven / Re: Hardcore Choco/Mog Issue
« on: 2016-02-04 23:10:47 »
I'm using a version of OST Remastered I had to repack into the original IRO myself, since it was empty in the initial release. A majority of the songs are Final FanTim's tracks while others are copy-pasted from the other selections. I tried changing it to Anxious Heart Original selection and just got past the cutscene into the fight. Thanks for the tips on the music.

No dice. Turned in-game BGM to 0 and they just kept dancing forever. Appreciate the tip, though.

7th Heaven / Hardcore Choco/Mog Issue
« on: 2016-02-04 20:27:04 »
Hey all. I've encountered a peculiar bug. I've progressed through the game up to the Chocobo Farm and went to talk to the chocobos to get Choco/Mog and fight the Silver Chocobo, however when I talk to them, they just start dancing...and don't actually stop. Music cuts, chocobos keep dancing, no dialogue for receiving Choco/Mog and no cut to the Silver Chocobo fight. Already tried isolating the problem and found out it wasn't cause by the Reunion, which I've been playing with from the beginning. I've played with this mod in the past when Bootleg was a thing, so I don't think it's the mod by itself.

Any tips would be appreciated.

7th Heaven / Change sound device?
« on: 2016-01-13 02:20:54 »
Hey all.

So during initial configuration I chose my audio device to just be the speakers on my TV, but after playing for a bit I would like to change to using my headphones while I play. I didn't try to mess with any files for fear of screwing up and having to reinstall everything, so how would I go about changing my sound device without having to un/reinstall the game?

It doesn't always look like that. At the beginning of the game you only have the lower level spells, but as you level that materia up spells like Fire2/Fira, Ice2/Blizzara, etc. fill up those spaces. It groups all the types of the same spell together.

7th Heaven / Finally solved my crashing issues
« on: 2016-01-08 02:27:51 »
First of all, a huge thanks to EQ2Alyza for compiling all of these mods together, been waiting on this release for a while.

I have found at least one configuration option that does not work, however. I kept getting crashes when starting the game and kept un/reinstalling trying to figure it out before finally going mod by mod to try and find the issue, and finally found it: The PRP option under Field Models - Non Player Characters is broken and crashes the game. Switching to the Kaldarasha or Rebuilded models allows me to boot the game. Not entirely gamebreaking for me personally, just wanted to report the issue.

Again, huge thanks to Alyza and the mod creators for this amazing program  :D

EDIT: After further testing it appears that any mod that uses any PRP models will crash the game.

EDIT 2: Last edit was a tad premature, it is just Field Models - NPCs.
