PC/steam is the best right now. It has all the mods completed.

Remastered is stuck on the background image mod since someone decided to lock it behind paywall.

I would want to play on PS1 emulator with upscaler like duckstation but the pc version especially remastered characters are too good to miss.

I hope someone else would take over the angelwing. There is a similar background AI mods for steam version, that one is good enough but was never ported to remastered.

It's not about how close-up can you get the picture, its about how widely stretched the picture is and we can't see the details with the stretched face like that.

Put the game back in 4:3 aspect ratio and then screenshot it.  I can see a bit and kinda like it. care if you show side by side comparison to original face please?

If you love great graphics in 7,8 & 9, go for the PC mods. But if you want great experience, play it on PSX (or PS2). Because real analog movement control and dual shock really makes the game feels great, especially on 8 & 9.

There's 2 version of 4, 3d and sprite, but the best version is on PSP which is only in sprite.

5 & 6 throw away the snes version and get the mobile version if you like graphics or PSX version for the classic Super FX effect and CG intro.

The code is there (leftover from the psx code), but nobody knows how to turn it on, especially to make it work on windows (directx).

Does Squall eyes really that small?


Also the outside part of Rinoa's eyes doesn't match the CG



kinda weird with your curved eyes. And she does wear a light lipstick or a visible pink.
If you can make her nose to be triangle shape instead of vertical (the shadow) that would be nice.

Steam, and wait for a sale.

Epic Store have free games every week and a sale sometimes, but MAKE SURE you activate 2 way authentication log in. People can EEASILLLY hack into your account. The only way to stop them is to send unique code to your email every time you log in. Make sure your email password is not the same as your game store password.

UPLAY also can be easily hacked but 2 way authentication will stop them. UPLAy sometime have free games on some event (like last time Assassins Creed) and free beta
play.

Don't forget about MICROSOFT STORE, do check them from time to time as they sometime have a sale up to 80% on a big AAA games (not those shitty mobile small games).
ALSO
XBOX GAME PASS PC. 10 bucks a month and play all the games they have.

That would be the same as character skin/texture replacement. You should go to the Rebirth Flame mod, get that installed and paint the textures yourself.
I said 'paint' because that texture is just a normal png files.

So, apparently FF7 and 8 are getting a physical release for the Nintendo Switch in the Asia markets. They'll come bundled in the same box and have full English support.


Time to pay those import taxes... 

"Full english support" that was a stupid advertisement remark. Since when FF7 and FF8 have asian language? (chinese etc)
All we got since then is all either Japanese or English. And we prefer English over everything else. If it's not in english then dont even bother to call it Asian release.

I know modders really hate to work with this remaster but I really really hope that someone could work on it.

I just can't stand at the ugliness of the 2003 character model. Even fanmade HD skin cant fix it.

Just found out that they have been using AKAO since SNES era.
and AKAO files can be converted into midi files.

If I remember in FF8(2000) there's a mod that can change our windows midi player with a better one and it makes the music sound much better and almost like PSX version but not perfect. This is before OGG.

I didn't know if anyone ever tried this before, I never seen any video or posts about it.
But has anyone ever tried playing the pc game midi audio files using a high quality midi hardware?
Something like maybe a Roland MT-32 or something?

Maybe if playing the game with that kind of hardware will produce a music similar to the original or maybe that is what it meant to be?

My theory is that the game midi files are the actual source file for the audio. All the game audio are made using midi or fm synthesizer, only the FMVs are orchestrated. I guess you guys already knew that.

I would support for ripping the remastered 3d Chara model and put it on the old pc ver.
It will not be Forbidden or illegal, this is the same ferning game.
Same as us before ripping out the texture and modifying it.

calm down dude. Also try not to double post, you even quadruple posting. Edit your previous post and say what you want to say there, in one post.

One more thing, you are trying to EDIT the existing game. This is not the place (although Maki is nice enough to help you), this thread is for discussion of MAKING the open source game engine. If you have question or a problem, just create a new thread.

Who knows right? Maybe JP ver have the full audio and ENG have that instrument only.
But yeah, if the song is still there then its OK, but not great.
