7th Heaven / 7th heaven wont launch the game

Hi there.
I'm a huge fan of ff7 and downloaded 7th heaven to be able to replay it with a ton of mods. I followed all the instructions and got the game to work with several texture mods, new music, character models and a few other things. I actually live streamed the game all the way up to wehn the weapons get released.
I took a break for a few weeks, and then decided to come back. Now all of a sudden 7th heaven wont launch the game. I end up seeing the game window for a split second and then it closes. I'm not sure what has happened. I tried to deactivate all the mods, and it would even try cuz there were no mods. I put on just a character model mod, and it tried, but is still unable to launch.
for some reason, going into the GL driver and setting the music to off, and then trying to launch the game does actually bring up an error "your configuration file is wrong"
also tried to play normally from steam, wich works, but aparrently i dont have acess to my save that way.
what do i do?
