Ok, I did this and now it says I should insert the gamedisk when I click launch game.

Ok, I inserted the dummy usb stick and the game now starts from 7thHeaven, but crashes everytime after the Eidos screen.

Hello,

I bought the steam version of FF7. It runs fine.
Then I followed the installation guide for 7thheaven thoroughly and tried every possible method, including downloading and inserting new ogg music files.

Whenever I activate any mods, and press launch game, the following error message appears:

 


Anyone got an idea how to fix this? I tried everything in the faq as well.
