7th Heaven / Re: glitched cursor
« on: 2019-03-10 09:33:44 »
This happened to me once, but then when I launched the game another time, it was back to normal. I don't think I did anything special. It may just be a random glitch that fixes itself? Is it constantly like this for you?

I was just fighting with these exact same issues. I found the problem for me was that the "direct" and "music" folders in the "Extra Folders" area of 7th Heaven's General Settings kept getting duplicated every time I would launch the game via 7th Heaven. I took a look in there and saw 100+ instances of these folders. Deleted all the extra ones and the game ran perfectly once again, however, each time I launch the game, it still adds those folders again (rather than just staying at the 2 of them), so I have to keep deleting the extras every time I go to play the game again. If you take a look in there and there are a ton of those extra folders, deleting them should fix the issue. I am using version 1.56 RC6 of 7th Heaven by the way.

7th Heaven / Re: FF7 error
« on: 2019-03-10 09:22:31 »
I have been getting this error when I launch the game through 7th Heaven as well. I feel like it started happening when I used a controller-to-keyboard mapper and hooked it to ff7_bc.exe, but it may have been from launching the game through Steam once as well (can't really recall). I just hit enter/click OK and then click Launch Game until it finally launches without the error and then the game runs fine.

I wonder if this may be a reason why my "direct" and "music" folders have been getting duplicated (in the "Extra Folders" area of the General Settings for 7th Heaven) every time I launch the game. Do those folders keep getting duplicated in there for you as well? I am using version 1.56 of 7th Heaven by the way.

Yeah, I noticed this on my initial setup of 7th Heaven (which was with version 1.56). By default it had all those extra slashes (some slashes were even backwards "/" and on one of the lines it had it listed something like "Final\/Fantasy\VII"). I know I did not enter those, because it was the very first time I went into the config. Before doing anything else I made sure to set it up properly and it has worked fine.

Recently though, I've been having one issue where the "direct" and "music" folders in "Extra Folders" keep getting duplicated every time I launch the game with the 7th Heaven launcher. It got to a point where my game was lagging very badly, and I went to check the config and noticed 100+ instances of these folders listed. After deleting them to just the 2, the game was smooth as could be, but launching the game again added 2 more instances of those folders. Does anyone have any idea why it would keep making those folders each time I launch the game?

Also, is there a way to add an image to a post or does it have to be an online image only? Was going to post an image of my General Settings in 7th Heaven to show more clearly what I mean about the "direct" and "music" folders.

I did a bunch of testing of programs to fix this for me over the last few days (using an Xbox One controller). The 2 I found that worked for me (with 7th Heaven Launcher) were Padstarr and Pinnacle Game Profiler (PGP). I prefer Padstarr right now as it seems more modernized. I think you have to pay for them, but they do come with trials (the PGP trial ran out for me and it is basically useless after that point unless you buy it). For now, I don't see anywhere listing a trial/how long it lasts in Padstarr, but we shall see.

Anyway, with Padstarr, I had to set it to make the game not recognize my controller as a controller, so that the D-pad would work properly based off of the keyboard commands. Everything on the controller works with the profile I downloaded for it too (using morpheus2n's FFVII controller profile with some edits such as making the analog stick make your character run if you push it over 85% in a direction).

I could not get my PS4 controller to be recognized by DS4Windows for some reason, and a lot of the basic controller to keyboard mapping programs didn't work for me, because the game would recognize the controller and would only accept it's inputs as a controller, so that's why Padstarr worked for me as it lets you disable that.
