I have an R9600 and had the same problem Winter. Once I switched to Win '95 compatability mode and installed the patch you have, it worked fine.

It seems any Windows version above '95 will bitchslap FF7.

i would definitely help with the NPC RC patch, but unfortunately, i have no artistic talent at all, hell i can't draw a straight line this long "________________" (to scale)

Actual size at full screen with a 14" monitor: 1.75 inches

If that's what it does, I'd like them to put it in the game. I'm tired of spending all that time in the north crater fighting magic pots and movers trying to master KotR.

I also heard that they put in a "Prevent Floor Damage" materia, which leads me to believe that they originally intended for cloud to be hurt by walking on the wrong places outside battle. (Lava, floor spikes, etc.) But they must have scrapped that, since I've played through the american version plenty of times and never seen it. I dont want this in the game, there's already enough of that in the whirlwind maze.  :-D

Oh, I thought everyone knew about that, sorry.   :-)

Here's a link that explains about the cave and the materia.

http://www.ff7citadel.com/secrets/s_cave.shtml

EDIT: And here's a short list of a few extra materia that can't be found in the american version of the game, but show up in the programming:

Booster : A Support materia with no use, may boost AP gained.
Law     : A Command materia with the Throw and Coin abilities.
Rifuabu : A Magic materia with the Wall spell (3 levels).

Agreed James, I got down to number three before my eyeballs melted.

Anyway, to get on topic, I'd like a remake. Everything about the game was pretty damn good. Plot, backgrounds, characters, storyline, conflicts, dialogue, music, FMVs, they all came together nicely to achieve what few games come close to. I'd only want four things to change:

1) We're up to the PS3, upgrade those lego blocks to AC-like graphics!

2) Correct the spelling.

3) Put that booster materia in the game.

4) Let us finally enter that cave by the city of the ancients. Don't care if it's empty, put the booster in there of something.

That's it. Leave Aeris dead, it's an important plot point and provides player motivation.

You mean all your porn are belong to us? WHAT YOU SAY?

Google has a safe-search option that can be turned on to block any adult content from searches. Yours must be turned off.

And I think this kind of stuff belongs in the "off topic" section. I might be mistaken tho.

Could be worse, what would have happened if he died from second-hand cigarette smoke? Chain smokers beware...

Either way, he was a darn nice guy. Not only did he entertain us, but he showed us animals we've never seen and taught us to respect them. He had more heart and bravery them most of us ever will, and I'm sure the world has lost a good one.

It's been out since the 15th in the US
If it has I haven't seen it (since I've been looking for it).

Cyb

It might be where you live in the US. I know I first saw it in my local Wal-Mart on the 17th for $50; And I live in the state full of amish.

Now, now...don't be shy guys.

Heya Sarah!  :-D

I think that what you described is the worst part of smoking; Secondhand smoke. It affects you no matter your age, health, lifestyle, and so on. I just don't think it's fair that I should have to suffer because someone wanted smoke nearby.

Is he really asian when you think about it? I mean, the only asian town I saw in FF7 was wutai. That town that Cloud was from (don't know how to spell it, but you all know what town it is) seemed more like a European or North American type settlement.

In AC, a they had someone who was asian play Cloud, giving him that apperance. He looked more European in the original FF7.

Of course, if reality and I disagree, reality will win.  :-D

Makes sense to me. Either way, it's a great vid.

Red at the top, fading to orange at the bottom.

It's looking very nice so far ice, keep it up!

19
That's a darn good install screen.  :-D

20
Not a bad idea. Save people the time from looking all over the site for something, and it's a good way to compare what and what is not being modded.

21
remember some animes need you to have a couple of screws loose to make sense

I think I know one of those, FLCL.

22
I'm not one for Anime myself, not because I don't like it, I just haven't seen many. But I did see one I really liked called Outlaw Star.

I'm not surprised no one obeys them. Here in America we tried to ban alcohol (Something equally as addicting) And even though we had harsh penaties, most of the population still drank it. I guess once your addicted, not even jail time will make you stop.

I don't like smoking myself, but I won't stop other people from doing it if that's what they choose to do.

I didn't mean we would wake up one day and be slapped by Uncle Sam. (Did I come off like that?) I didn't mean something like you might go to get a driver's license only to have the lady say something like "I'm sorry sir. But it says here you voted for a democratic canidate. That means that you don't believe that our current administration can lead America. Oh my...and it also says here you drive an electric car. So you don't wish for the american gas companies to stay in buisiness? That's bad sir, you should love your country. Only people who love our country are allowed to drive here. That's what the 47th amendment says. I'm going to recommend you for patriotism training classes. Are you free on Tuesdays at 5:00 pm next month?"

I just meant that the more rights and freedoms we lose, the more power over our lives the government gains.
