Troubleshooting / Can't download the big mods

Hey everyone,
first of all I want to thank you all for the amazing work that has been put into this game through all these years since it's release. I'm a long time player and fan of FF7 but only have only started to play it with mods recently and it totally is a different game.

However I am having some issues with downloading mods through 7th Heaven.
I've done the whole setup without trouble and managed to get most of the mods, however every time I try to download a mod that's bigger than 1GB 7th Heaven either freezes or crashes with following error

This happens every time I try and download either the movies mod or texture packs, when I try to download the music mod 7th heaven freezes immediately. This has been the same for about 5 days now.
I tried to download one of the smaller mods (story difficulty and cheats and tweaks) and those downloaded and installed without issue.

I've tried downloading with a wired connection but got ended up having the same issues. I've cleared out my temp folder but that didn't help either.
I'm kinda at a loss here and can't figure out why the bigger mods refuse to download and crash the software...
I've been playing the modded game without issue but the unaltered cutscenes are really starting to annoy me lol.
hopefully someone has an explanation here.
