any tips on fighting the boss while picking up the optional items when you're controlling zell on the lunatic pandora? got wrecked by him and i had to restart from before odine's lab

For some reason the whistle is tied to Triangle after the first forest. This means that you will keep opening the menu when you need to use the whistle. The only work a round I found was to hold triangle and continously open and close the menu, using images of the best places to proc the whistle.

Changing menu button away from triangle will also change the whistle button as well so I couldn't find any better method outside of the one outlined above. I played on the remastered version too and eventually completed the chocobo side quest.

hey, not sure if caused by the mod or i'm doing something wrong. i did the beginner chocobo forest fine, went to the basics forest and for some reason i can't sound my whistle. i'm playing with ff8 remastered. thanks for your work on the mod!

7th Heaven / Re: Any know how to get the Steam Overlay/Steam Link working with 7th Heaven?

i got it working by running steam as admin and then adding the 7th heaven installation of FF7 as a custom game. not sure if it'll work with steam link though, i was just trying to get the overlay working so i can use my ps4 controller without remapping a bunch of things. here's the steps:
1. change steam and 7th heaven to run as admin (right click -> properties -> compatibility tab -> enable "run this program as admin")
2. launch steam and add 7th heaven and ff7 (7th heaven version) as custom games
3. launch 7th heaven thru steam (there shouldn't be a UAC popup anymore)
4. launch ff7 thru 7th heaven
