General Discussion / Re: Favourite FF game in the series?

Other FF games don't get anywhere close to this amount of action.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing though?

Personally, I always found it silly to be allowed to make your character go up to that much strength... where is the fun in it?  Although, it would be humorous to have a FFX party, where Tidus does 3420 dmg, Aaron does 4093 dmg, and Yuna waltz up to the enemy, taps the enemy with her staff like she always does, and do 14302 (that is, with the dmg limit removed, which is possible but I was never able to do  )

:-D I heard that rumor on the website www.funcoland.com, which is down now unfortunately (I say unfortunately because it was a great site to get games, among other things).  I was relatively new to video games and the internet, so I believed it... I don't know how many hours I wasted trying to find more than just the two 1/35 Soldiers you find in Junon... plus the hours trying to get better and better to beat that roller coaster game to get the Masamune...

Thankfully, I learned that the only way to get Sephiroth to be in your party is to have the edited Char.lgp that replaces Clouds polygon with Sephiroth's polygon, or use GameShark on the PSX version  :-P

And thankfully again, I learned that if you hear a tip or cheat, do some research first before wasting your life for hours on end just to find out it wasn't true. :-)

Is it possible to change Super Nova from a Gravity attack to a normal attack?  After you learn that it is a gravity attack, the only thing you have to dread is the 2-3 minutes waiting for it to finish... but actually making it do an attack that could kill, could make people playing actually worry about seeing that attack.

If you do finish this difficulty patch, I look forward to it  :-D  Thank you in advance

I'd like to learn how to use "Blender" one day... but because of it's known difficulty to use... I'll be at it for years on end  :-o

But, I'm willing to try  :-D

Good luck trying to do that stuff, you'll most certainly need it (but the best of luck, I hope you can succeed :D )

Well... I hope you succeed... and though I can't really help, I can cheer you on  :-D

Lets just hope that if it goes into Windows-Mode, the same doesn't happen like when Metal Gear Solid PC goes into Windows Mode...

Ahh, I see.  I had a feeling that I would have to do it myself... and I think that I could learn how to do it... eventually :D

Thanks a bunch :D

I'm incredibly sorry if this has been asked before, but when I used the search bar, only about 7-8 topics showed up, and none of them really seemed to resemble my question.

So, here it goes...

Does anyone know if it's possible to put in a Moogle polygon thingy into Final Fantasy 7 or 8?  I'm sure you all know what i mean, but if you don't, I'm talking about replacing a characters polygon model (for example, Cait Sith) and replace that model with a polygon of a moogle from Final Fantasy 9 (or maybe the moogle model from the summon attack for Final Fantasy 8).

Now, I know that if I was to replace a polygon model of the game, it wouldn't effect the FMV (except the FMV's that use the actual polygons), and I know that it would probably make the moogle polygon move strangely... but as a lover of moogles, I'd just like to have one if possible.

So... is it possible?  If there is a way for a newbie like to me do it, please direct me to a topic that already explains this (if you wouldn't mind).  I don't mind the fact that the Avatar wouldn't change, and the fact that it might sprout some strange effects (and interactions would be screwed up)... but I'm willing to try if there is a way.

I own FF7 PC and PSX, FF8 PC and PSX, and FF9 PSX.  Any tips would be appreciated.

And sorry if this repeats anything anyone else has asked.  I'm somewhat new to the board.  Like I said though, I did use the search bar and didn't find anything similar to this (unless I accidentally over-looked it).

I don't know if this'll help anyone, but I found a way to fix the problem without skipping the scene. I have Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) Service Pack 1, and K-Lite Codec Pack installed on my computer.  Codec Tweak Tool came with it, and after I disabled AVIsplitter (Gabest), it fixed the two freezes, and finally made the polygon characters function correctly with the FMV's.  I also made the game read the movie's from the hard drive, so that might of helped too.  I can now go through FF7 without glitches or freezes (as far as I know).

I don't know if having AVIsplitter off all the time is bad, but I haven't seen any problem with it so far.  It's easy to turn off and on, so if it needs to be on it's not problem.

I would think this would work for everyone else too.  Tell me if it's just my system, or perhaps I just got lucky (I believe I learned about that from the people here).

lol Thank you for thinking I have the capability to do that... but I'm not smart enough to get into a file like that.  I wouldn't have any idea how to do it.

Would anyone suggest a way to do it though?  Sorry if this is simpler than it seems, but I've never done such a thing before.

Unfortunately, I don't have the ps1 version... I always meant to get it, but never did.

Thanks anyway :D  I appreciate the help I got!

Looks like I will have to either A) Live with it or B) Learn Korean... which isn't going to happen lol

See here, I'm a fan of the Megaman X series, and here lately, I got Megaman X6 for the PC (since I want to get more games for my PC)...

Just one problem...

Megaman X6 PC was only released oversea's... so all it's language is in Korean.

So, after spending so much time here on this board, I know you people are pretty good at things like this, so I thought I'd ask you a question.

Do any of you know how I could somehow get inside of the game (full download of coarse) and change the text to english? I'm fully aware that I will have to change it all by hand... err, typing, I know I just cant switch a few files around and expect it to be english.  It's going to be a very hard job, I know that already, but I'm still hoping for a solution.

If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it  :-D

Here are snip shots of what the folders consist of.

The second folder was just for the movie clips.

If you guys could help me, I'd deeply appreciate it :D

And, while I'm here, thanks to everyone here for getting me through the bugs and stuff in Final Fantasy 7!  I was able to get through the game with no problem after coming here, so thanks a bunch  :-D :-D :-D

^I had a similar experience, just a bit different.  When I did all of that, in town the characters looked the same (the lego characters)... but on the world map, the lego characters were changed to the good-looking models (not the lego characters).

I heard re-installing the game would fix this, but I haven't really tried yet (but plan to soon).

I have to say, thanks for the gypt program!  Unfortunately with Vista, it crashed like everyone said, and this miracle of a program got me past it  :-D  In both cases! I was really lucky that my game didn't freeze at Junon when Weapon attacked :-D

Thanks again!!!
