I found that the game works alot better with software rendering.  I don't see any major effects of using it  -_-

No. It is poss, but since I recently upgraded to an AMD 64 3700+ my copy of FF7 has had trouble running.  Working fine under virtual PC tho.

Ok, I have a way for your game to run bug free.

First off you will need microsoft virtual pc 2004:
http://www.microsoft.com/PRODUCTS/info/product.aspx?view=22&pcid=ba9e68ed-9571-4d10-82d2-b51828c33297&type=ovr

Then you will need an old copy of win98se, I'm sure all of us have an old copy laying around somewhere.

Just go through all the motions of installing VPC on your computer and then giving all the right settings to initially setup your virtual hard drive in the program.  Intall win98se and then proceed to install your game.

If you have several older games as I do it is worth shelling out the cash for this.  It does work and it also works fine with games I've tested that use direct x.

Hope this helps  :D

Yeah, any possibility of getting those subs too, if someone could host them and post a link or email them to me at [email protected]

The way that reno and co talk with the "yo" that they say in parts is gonna sound wierd with american voice overs.  I agree that the japenese voice actors do a better job and with subs the film is great.

I read in a post some where on the forums that there may be a FFXIII for the PS3, but to my knowledge I heard they were stopping after 12??

General Discussion / cheats for ff7
« on: 2005-09-22 22:12:24 »
Why on GoD's green earth would you WANT to cheat?? FF7 is an awesome game, to cheat is to cheapen the experience, as with any game you have come to love and enjoy... Please, if you want to cheat, do it with a more predominantly less respeced game, like spiro, or that badicoot.

Ok, I would like the remake of FF7, and would also like to see the sequel as a game, but lets face it, never gonna happen.  I wanna see FF7AC when it does come out, and will probably have it improted from the states when that happens (november this year I believe).  As for FFX-2, major disappointment for me, I expected so much more from the game, rather than 3 characters through the whole game... I'm sure wveryone loved the ability to actively change ur characters mid battle in FFX, they took that enjoyment away for me in part 2.  The battle system too, 10 had it down nicely, part 2 crapped all over it and generally made me wish I could bun every copy of it in the world.  But back to my first point.... FF7-2 would not be a good idea, film looks good as it is and they would probably shit it all up by implementing a new battle system.

My advice, noted on another topic, use virtualCD v4, it makes an image of the game for you and stores it to the hard drive, one problem tho, you need to install the game again from the virtual cd, meaning transfer all disks to the hard drive and do it that way. If you dont you will encounter the problem of the game trying to find the cd. HF

Thanks for all the help guys, but i got lucky on ebay, I have bought a mint condition originally packaged US version of the game, should be getting it in the next week....

BTW I reccomend VirtualCD v4, Is good for backing up your cds and running them from the hard drive, you just need a bucketload of space.

To cut a long story short, I have final fantasy 7 for the pc, and in a drunken stupor managed to bust my last game disk. Being on dailup i have searched high and low on ftp and p2p utils to find an iso for the last disk, only to turn up nothing.  If anyone out there has it, could they maybe arrange to talk with me on msn messenger at [email protected] .  Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated, and if you do need proof that i have the game, (to prove that i am not doing anything illegal) i will be more than happy to give a display of it through my webcam.  Best regards, Noel McIlmoyle.
