FF8 Tools / Re: [PSX/PC] Field editor - Deling (0.12.0b)
« on: 2025-02-22 06:05:09 »
I'm translating "ff8 remastered 2019" into another language.

This is an issue regarding character spacing.

I used the deling program to extract the Japanese sysfnt.tdw, then changed all the width values in sysfnt.tdw to 12, and replaced the main.fs and menu.fs files in
\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered\DEMASTER_EXP\data\lang-jp
with the re-imported sysfnt.tdw file.

Theoretically, the modified character widths in sysfnt.tdw should be reflected, but they remain exactly the same as before. Are the character WIDTH values in the sysfnt.tdw file not being applied?

If so, how can I fix all character widths uniformly?

Hello, developer! I’m really enjoying your program.

I have a question: I want to build the source code, but I keep running into conflicts.

Is there an optimal way to build it at this point without running into those conflicts?

The versions I want to build are v1.8.6 and v2.0.0.

I would really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!

Hello, developer.
Could you modify the program so that the char opcode it loads can be changed separately?

For example, there's something called touphscript's char.txt

If you look inside the compressed file, you'll see “char.txt” and “char fix.txt.”
The “char fix.txt” file is one I’ve modified for my own use.
However, from what I understand, Scarlet - Battle Data Editor seems to use the original “char” file for text.

Would it be possible to set up the program so that it can read from a separate file like “char,” allowing us to replace or modify it as needed?

hello. myst6re.

Can I add fonts to mako reactor?

There is a script used in version 1.83.
I don't think I can use it because the file structure is different from the latest version.

I'll upload the file, so please take a look.
